“I think it’s perfectly legal to tape & record folks on your property with or without their permission, you merely have to notify them you are doing so.”

Do I have to notify people when I look out my window?

Banks and their ATMS allowed to record you and I didn’t sign any sort of consent or see any notification when going to a bank I am not a customer of.

In public there is no expectation of privacy, on private property is a different story. (Think of taping phone calls, they are not in the public domain.)

“Banks and their ATMS allowed to record you.....”

I believe the law allows you to videotape a person without notification but once you tape for audio you have to inform them, not get their permission.
