Palin Reflects on Her Candidacy and Talks About Her Future
Fox News ^

Posted on 11/05/2008 11:03:52 PM PST by mathwhizz

The finger pointing started even before the GOP ticket abandoned their White House hopes last night between McCain and Palin staffers–some who blame John McCain’s loss on his running mate. But, Palin said she won’t get involved in the “pettiness” or the “negativity” and instead blamed it on “the nature of the beast” referring to politics.

“I don’t know what they’re saying or who they are but certainly if anything is based on any kind of anonymous source, I certainly won’t even comment on it.” Palin said, “But I have absolutely no intention of engaging in any of the negativity because this has been all positive for me for what I believe in, the values that I represent and the progress that I wanna see America be able to make. Just absolutely no time for the pettiness. “

Palin explained, “It’s kinda just the way I’m wired. I don’t have time for that.”

Instead of commenting on the in-fighting she had high praise for both the President-Elect, Barack Obama calling his win “an historic moment” and McCain labeling him a “uniter.”

Well, it’s civil war time in the GOP now. Gonna take awhile for it to sort out.

Wink wink... We love you Sarah.

It was the late-added presence of SARAH which energized an otherwise moribund and apathetic conservative voting base.

It was SARAH who drew record-shattering crowds, everywhere she went on behalf of a sour and ungrateful McCain campaign.

Friendly little word of warning to any/all RINOs out there reading this, and thinking about standing in the way between this woman and the conservative base that adores her, anytime during the next four years:

You're expendable to us. SHE isn't.

Once again she shows why she's so well liked by taking the high road.

As Rush says, the fight for the soul of the Republican Party has begun. It’s blue bloods vs. Reaganites. I’m ready b/c I am so sick of these RINO’s, Northeastern Repubs and elitists. You should have seen the way some o them were ridiculing Gov. Palin b/c she isn’t ahem, “well educated”, in other words, she didn’t go to Harvard. Someone even suggested she get a Masters degree before 2012. It’s so sickening how condescending they are. I really dislike them.

Once again Sarah is the ADULT... teaching the whinny wienies... the proper, gracious way to behave.

Moms are really needed in politics... what can I say... Hey kids “knock it off or I’ll knock if for you!”

Getting to know Sarah was the best thing that came out of this election season. If we want to revitalize the Republican party, we need Sarah and more like her! We need to get involved in small tow politics, like Sarah did. Republicans need to become small town Mayors, City Counsel Members, County Commissioners etc. Eventually we can work our way back up. We need to rebuild this party from the bottom up. We will never be truly successful nationally until we realize this.

If they do not have visuals there is no news. Do they have visuals of Sarah and her bathrobe or a towel? If not, forget it.

Ronald Reagan's media adviser didn't give a damn what the mainstream media was saying, he cared only that Reagan was featured waving to the crowd in front of Air Force One or in front of the flag. He knew that this is the television age. Visuals trump BS.

Just as a visuals torpedoed Sarah Palin when she appeared on Gibson and Couric, so visuals will restore her if she gets her forensic act together. She should go to Alaska and read, read, read. If she does not have the intellectual curiosity to do so, she will fall by the wayside. She should hire a good speechwriter and get on the Republican rubber chicken circuit and hone her skills. She should demonstrate not only forensic ability but substance.

Meanwhile, the fact that merely putting her name in a headline draw swarms of Freepers demonstrates her charisma.

After she makes the first couple of thousand speeches, she will have a message, she will be ready for the bigs on her own.

She is far more mature than the post with that petty “nipping at the heels” sexist remark knowing that only Jack Frost and ankle biter dogs nip at heels. Why isn’t the RNC Chair calling down this remark? Aren’t political chairs supposed to be able to say things without being accused of being petty, I know mainstream elected officials probably have to be quiet for a week at least but the Chair could at least call down the Post for the sexism and for the internet army veiled threat by the Obama camp.

Didn’t McCain’s campaign receive approximately $14 mil that weekend after she was introduced to the public?

No one is mentioning that!

You bet - it is obviously the RINOS whose failed strategy lost us the White House - who are attacking her. If the GOP Congress works with Obama to pass liberal bills they are finished. If they fight him on conservative grounds they can regain power.

Absolutely. "Moderate" Republicans demanded (and were given) carte blanche opportunity to demonstrate, once and for all, that they knew how to win at the national level, this year.

They got exactly the candidate they wanted. They got exactly the party platform they wanted. The campaign was run exactly the way they insisted it be run.

How'd that end up working out for us, again...?

They actually managed to lose to a one-term Senate Marxist with open and unapologetic terrorist ties. The only thing I want to hear from Team McCain or any of its shrill little apologists, from this day forward, is a meek and contrite: "We're sorry."

They have nothing else worthwhile what. so. EVER. to contribute to any meaningful discussion, re: either conservatism or winning electoral strategies.

The McCain campaign ought to be fully ashamed of themselves for trying to pin ANYTHING on Palin.

The McCain campaign heavily involved Crist, Jindal and Pawlenty. Those guys were given lots of campaign resources to give speeches and meet with the press to make statements and thus were kept up to speed on all the issues and campaign themes.

That kind of involvement never included Palin until the moment she was picked as VP and for the McCain campaign people to blame anything on Palin for not being fully up to speed in anyway is pure SH*T!

It was obvious Palin was totally surprised by being picked and it is a much different mind set being governor of Alaska and being the VP choice.

In the end analysis the failures are with the McCain campaign jerks who are now trying to blame Palin for their own failures.

I wish she wouldn’t have said so many nice things about Obama. He sure wouldn’t have returned the favor. I just wish our people would get good and mad and stay mad. Thats the only way we are going to win. But nevertheless, I miss Sarah already. It just won’t seem right without a little bit of Sarah in my day.

Just like I call Obama, a Marxist.

This election proved the failure of the big tent RINO Republican strategy.

You don’t win new voters with “compassionate” conservatism. You don’t win new voters by pandering to the illegal alien vote. You win voters by rallying the base. You win voters with fiscal conservatism. Voters who want a Democrat will vote Democratic. Republicans need to offer an alternative to the Democrats to be competitive, not the same crap watered down.

Her job now is to be governor of Alaska,`and she wouldn’t well serve Alaskans to start feuding with the president elect.
