SCAPEGOATING SARAH
NY Post ^ | 11/06/08

The search for someone to blame for John McCain's defeat was well under way yesterday. Many fingers, not surprisingly, were pointed at Sarah Palin.

Actually, the Palin scapegoating began before the polls even opened, with top McCain staffers complaining that the Alaska governor was a "diva" given to straying "off message."

Nonsense.

True, she turned out not to be the magic bullet Republicans had hoped for.

Then again, John McCain turned out not to be the asset Republicans had hoped for. Terming his performance - and that of the campaign itself - lackluster sort of understates the case.

Yes,
I was undecided as to whether I would even vote prior to

Palin getting the VP nod. I sent the campaign money twice, something I’ve never done before.

The dims and MSM are going to try to destroy her to prevent her from 2012. They see how effective she was/is.

Palin/Jindal 2012?

Think of how hard it has been these past few months defending a vote for John McCain (I’m not talking about defending a vote against Obama now)! When the “Washington Stunt” played itself out, you couldn’t help but think, “Yeah, he really missed a chance there!” That is what was wrong. Tone-Deafness! He had the chance to put his whole pile of chips on the table (given the sudden thrust of the life-or-death nature of the financial crisis that swooped down upon us all), demonstrate his (reputed) outstanding quality of being “The Maverick” and his knees buckled.
Game. Set. Match. His own words condemned him.

Circular Firing Squad time.

Folks, it was the GWB economy that sunk the Republicans this time. And all that spending on an unnecessary war in Iraq. And the weak dollar and deficit spending.

Now everyone go back to bed.

My wife was a Romneybot even after the primaries. She really liked Gov Palin though. Now she’s upset that it seems to be Romney people trashing Palin. The Mitts are off!

McCain is only happy when he is destroying conservatives. Do not doubt that this comes from the very top of the McCain campaign.

El Juan McCain de Amnestio will be 0bama’s lap doq in the Senate more than anyone else over the next two years.

He would have to name himself. McCain is behind the trashing of Sarah Palin. He needs it to save his image.

RINOS will never admit they are wrong or wrong for the GOP. Look at McCain and Huck when they stuck their fingers in our eyes so many times. Get rid of all RINOS.

These Big Media Elitist Obamah Propagandist are morons!

Gov. Palin is the sole reason Conservatives didn't sit out this election.

John MeCain couldn't fill little league bleachers before Gov. Palin's VP selection.

I only pulled the lever because of Sarah. I plan to write to her to thank her for her willingness to run.

What a grueling experience. She displayed remarkable grace under fire.

That's a load of Barbara Striesand.

Gov. Palin was the only reason I voted on Nov 4.

The RINOs that infested the McCain Campaign know very well that people weren’t voting for McCain, but voting for Palin. They resent this. And since they can’t look at themselves in the mirror and admit their failures, they are looking for a convenient scapegoat.

It could not have been said better. Palin was the draw -- not McCain.

Agree wholeheartedly. It’s unfortunate but predictable that the long knives are out for Palin. The Rockefeller Republicans have to destroy her, and they are the source of these attacks.
