“I am tired of this bullshit writing off of states. We have conservatives who are stuck in the closet because they think their state is totally liberal and loves welfare and taxes. The Republican Party has let these citizens down by ignoring their states”

Exactly. Here in NJ, we are always written off. It has to change. Why even bother to set up an organization in a state that they are conceding? Waste of time and money.

The conservative base was the problem. Still alot out there that “want to teach the GOP a lesson”.

I hope they're happy with the results of their handiwork - a socialist marxist in the White House and four years of economy-wrecking socialist initatives, liberal judge appointees and a weak, vacillating foreign policy.

Congratulations, turncoats.

So, where are you getting your “11% Democrat vote” for McCain?

If your number is correct, 11% of all Democrats voted for McCain. Do you think that 11% were Obama supporters supporting McCain?

Yell at jockcocktoasten and pabianice for their numbers, too:

Numbers from exit polls on ABC News election night.
Exit polls are to be taken with a grain of salt. Ten Reasons Why You Should Ignore Exit Polls. The pre-election polls (the ones that turned out to be correct) showed that Obama had consolidated his base.

I was going to write in Duncan Hunter.

But the more I found out about Zero, the more I feared his victory.

The addition of Sarah Palin to McCain’s ticket made hubby and I enthusiastically vote “Country First” but we were already going to do it very reluctantly.

Our votes were more for Palin than McCain.

I believe McCain would have been destroyed without Sarah.

I don’t believe this election was stolen.

Stupid voters on both sides made their choice.

McCain built his own gallows via McCain-Feingold and McCain-Kennedy. Yea, he crossed the isle. Goody. Toss in his support for global warming BS with Lieberman and he pretty much peeed in all the conservative cornflakes. Opps- forgot the trillion dollar bailout.
So BO eclair just pulled the rope and disavowed public financing – BOOM – 5:1 money advantage.
And the official immigration / sanctuary policy left no room to court any Spanish vote.

Conservatives had Nothing to get excited about until Sarah.
She may be our Madonna in a couple of years but it’s disingenuous to expect her to pull conservatives together on an empty playing field! And Fox looks to Joe the Plumber? Pretty freeking shallow strategy in both cases.

We need a new Newt. Real smart guy but also has the global warming anchor around his neck. We need a focused policy position and someone to front it. Someone with NO sin – cause the rising liberal smear machine will gut this person.

We need some coordinated media outlet effort. There are 52% ignorant voters out there.
Not being a “community organizer” I don’t know how to get to these folks.

If you ask me….

I honestly don’t know why 11% of self-identified Democrats supported McCain. I do know that the party-crossover numbers were similar to those in 2000 and 2004. Obama ended up with about the same percentage of Democrats as Gore or Kerry. It helped Obama that there were a lot more Democrats this time round.

Please answer my other claims, too, as well as the numbers you and others gave.

So, by your OWN numbers, you believe that 11% of all Democrats voted for McCain. Do you think that 11% were Obama supporters supporting McCain?

Get real. Oh, and how do you know 11% of Democrats voted for McCain? Exit polls?

The Republican party has said, before we come to your state, we need to see some polling data that shows we can win.

That is a crap philosophy. Go to these states, recruit locally, count votes and prospective support by surveying each state, block by block. Register the previously unregistered and recruit them to vote conservative. I guarantee you that if the conservative movement did this, we could build a permanent majority.

Are you out of your mind? The PUMAs worked their butts off for the McCain campaign. They then went to the polls and voted. That’s more than I can say for many in the Repbulican Party.

How dare you try to blame the PUMAs.

Imbecile.

Bumping your comment. Those who try to blame the PUMAs aren't much different than those who try to blame Sarah. Outmanned, outmoneyd, and outcharmed by Obama and his well oiled machine/strategies, and the anger at GW really cost the Republicans this election.

Agree. Why the heck did they even set up McCain in Woodbridge? I spoke to the head of NY NJ there, Nick Fiorelli. He pretty much had his hands tied. Way back in September we wanted them to rally at least at Liberty in Jersey City. Statue of Liberty, WTC, timed to the debate in Hempstead, NY. Proximity to NY/CT. Nothing. At the very least, they could have tried. Late, yes, but as you say, groundwork needs to be done.

I hate quitters.

Pre-election polls. Remember those polls that everyone said were totally wrong and turned out to be completely correct? Here is an article citing the data. This has Obama with about 88 percent of Democrats. That tightened a little in the final week to 89%, but I'd have to dig up a reference for that.

The PUMAs fooled us.

Nonsense. Only 81% of Hillary supporters voted for Obama. That jibes with the 20% who said they would vote McCain throughout the summer.

Meanwhile RINO assclown McCain got only 80% of the "Conservative" vote. Conservatives were 34% of all voters. That means that Obama got 15-20% of 34% of voters, or 5-7% total. Obama won the popular vote by 6.1%. Do the math...PUMSa did their job. Conservative didn't. And that is all John Sidney McCain's fault.

Where do you get the 86-11 number? Did PUMA appear on their foreheads? We will never have full information on that. My neighbor and 3 of her Hillary supporter friends are not only not single but married grandmothers—all voted for McCain. That single young females voted in mass means little regarding PUMA who happened to also include males.
We just didn’t have a candidate other than Palin!
