The McCain campaign took too much for granted. I helped open our local county office in August, and then tried for the next five weeks to get McCain/Palin signs and bumper stickers. We were repeatedly told by national McCain people that Indiana was not a priority. We told those people that McCain would lose Indiana if they didn't get us the materials to help the McCain effort.

Then three weeks before the election—after Obama pulled even—suddenly, we get 1,500 signs and several thousand stickers. We suddenly get a professional election worker (compared to 20 professional Obama staff members). With a week to go, we suddenly get 50 cell phones for phone banks.

The Obama office here had paid employees, a dozen computers, phones, and funding. Obama went after Indiana with gusto. They also started campaigning here in May. McCain limped into town on Nov.3.

Given the 0.9% difference in outcome between Obama and McCain in Indiana. I really believe that starting the push in August could have made the difference.

Absolutely correct.
McCain ran way, way behind RINO Daniels who ran a great campaign.
Of course Obama’s foreign billions in funding didn’t hurt either.

I agree. Though I intitially put them out there as sort of a fluke...I can't tell you how many people, and even some GOP offices ordered my bumper stickers because I could get them to them in a few days.

It's sad that the national campaign was not more responsive in terms of material.
