What’s the deal with NM and CO? Too many granola crunchers migrated there?
Elvina, we lived for quite awhile in NM, lots of government lands (reservations), lots of welfare and the “gimmee” mentality is strong. Don’t know about CO, may be granola influence there. S. Texas along the border (Rio Grande Valley) has ALWAYS been liberal Hispanics, much welfare again. I was born and raised there speaking Spanish, I just didn’t join the Dem movement, had hard-working parents that taught me by example.
In the Rio Grande Valley, it was constant Dem mayors, sheriffs, county officials and still is. What I find hard to believe (looking at the county election map) are the blue counties in far W. Texas like Big Bend, you’re tellin’ me that those hard working ranchers and farmers went for B.O.? I think not, something’s weird about that for sure. That blue swatch above Big Bend must be Pecos and I can believe that, Pecos itself would cause the county to go blue. El Paso?, oh yeah, I can understand that!
