Byron York, Jen Rubin, and Michelle Malkin all have smart takes on the McCain aides' smearing of Sarah Palin. The Anchorage Daily News has a couple videos of Sarah Palin talking to the press after arriving back in Alaska, and it looks like she's more than capable of defending herself, if she thought it was worth her time. Regarding the leaks against her, Palin said:
“If they’re an unnamed source, then that says it all. I won’t comment on anybody’s gossip, or allegations that are based on anonymous sources. That’s kind of a small, evidently bitter type of person who would anonymously charge something foolish like that, that I perhaps didn’t know an answer to a question.
“So until I know who was talking about it, I won’t have a comment on false allegations.”

These evil ogres who stabbed Sarah in the back have done us a favor by exposing themselves. Sarah will get her own back in a major interview or best-selling book.
Where is John McCain—allowing Sarah to be lynched in the press like she is. He is acting like a coward—so much for that war hero status—he just lost it.
I’m joining the freepers who are boycotting all news media—including FOX. They let this stuff go on, acting gleeful all the time.
Really don’t care what the media’s opinion is of Sarah. I know what I heard from her, what I saw, the crowds she drew, and why. And that in a nutshell is why she’s being attacked.
A bunch of small people in the Republican party are doing this with the aid of the MSM. I hope they’re all exposed so we can get rid of the chaff once and for all - no matter who they are!
I’m grateful for Sarah Palin being introduced to the American people. She was a bright spot in this election season because she has a belief system she’s not ashamed of.
She knows how to come back, and she’ll know when.

This is about destroying her so that she can never return to the national stage, and us conservatives find that unacceptable.

They spent some time on it, but had a woman commentator who really slammed the ones that did the whining.
Is there any conservative who is treated fairly? She was hit hard cause she’s a force to be reckoned with. Naming her energized the campaign. I was literally joyful for days (then other things intruded- like the financial crisis) and confidant we could win. The left hates her, which is a good sign :)
Hey, I heard Carl Cameron is gay and has a fetish for feet and small puppies. I have this on good authority, but I can’t tell you who it is - just say it’s an unnamed source inside Fox News!.
I wonder why the mainsream media was so against Sarah. Do they fear her? One of President Bush's and the republicans greatest faults is not fighting back against the smears. It's time that stopped. We need to get just as dirty as they are if we're ever going to be successful again. I'll use some of McCain's best words.

That’s what I asked McCain in the letter I just put in the mailbox. He’s disgusting — should’ve been out there defending her before noon today. Disgraceful.
She needs to come out swinging and tell the TRUTH about the CLOTHES situation!

McCain squelched similar rumors during the campaign.
Palin is the only reason I voted for McKennedy.
I respect his military experience. I spit on his senate experience.

Operation Leper

RedState is pleased to announce it is engaging in a special project: Operation Leper.
We’re tracking down all the people from the McCain campaign now whispering smears against Governor Palin to Carl Cameron and others. Michelle Malkin has the details.
We intend to constantly remind the base about these people, monitor who they are working for, and, when 2012 rolls around, see which candidates hire them. Naturally then, you’ll see us go to war against those candidates.
It is our expressed intention to make these few people political lepers.
They’ll just have to be stuck at CBS with Katie’s failed ratings.
