“He wants to get re-elected. He can't blame George Bush four years from now if the economy is not doing well."

Why can't he? He will. And that's how his media lapdogs will report it.

Baseless optimism, I’d call it. A contracting economy is just what the American left loves: Obama has already tipped his hand that he wants all kinds of Federally funded infrastructure projects and to organize all kinds of civilian this-that-or-the-other-thing corps. (Not just his ominous ‘civilian national security corps’.) He wants to play FDR, and this time plans to do the full fascist treatment the Supremes stopped the original from going through with.

Maybe we’ll luck out and Karl Marx will be right about one thing, and when history repeats itself it will be farce the second time around. Of course given Marx’s track record. . .

Another one of the reasons Steve Forbes can never be President ~ he's naive.

The leftwingtards have every intention of being as stupid as they can be.

Forbes you ignorant slut. Obama is going to wreck the economy and govern from the far left. The only people who can put any pressure on him are DEMOCRATS - and we know how courageous THEY are!

Wishful thinking. Forbes is a smart guy, but not that smart.

Obama will have three faces. He will do things to appear center-left to the public at large, but will rearrange institutions and policies behind the scenes to move them to the left...that will be mostly out of the media eye. He will have a third face where he takes a few high profile left positions on things in favor of his base that are not that "scary" to the general public.

His main challenge will be his own party moonbats who don't do "subtle". They want a hare and not a turtle. He may have some issues with them.

“President-elect Barack Obama to be forced by the economy to “govern from the center,” not the far left, as some fear. “

He’s assuming a rational approach, rather than an outcome-driven agenda to achieve social justice to the planet, at any cost.

The mortgage crisis was consequences-be-ignored social justice policy.

Steve Forbes, editor-in-chief of Forbes magazine, says he expect President-elect Barack Obama to be forced by the economy to "govern from the center," not the far left, as some fear.

Sure Steve.

Who’s going to force him to the center? Reid? Pelosi? RINO’s??

There’s a LOT of wishful thinking going on, none here. Everything about Obama’s past suggests a HARD left turn.

The Soros/Moonbat wing is in control, this is their halcyon/LSD days.

All we can do is hunker down, fight in your states for election reform, purge the RINO’s, and vote in the primaries for conservatives.

That did not turn out well.

Neither will this.

He will not govern from the center. Obama is arrogant enough to think he can get away promoting a radical, leftist agenda and that America will fall into line behind him. It won’t happen. He will be ripe for defeat in 2012. The centrist and center-right independednts that bought into his bullshit that he was a centrist will abondon him and the young ones, the first time voters, who really believed he was going to pay for their college and housing and food and give everything want will feel betrayed and stay home next time.

I expect that one of the very highest priorities that the rats will act on is to do everything they can to ensure their majority will survive any election. They can do this by giving citizenship to millions of illegals and stifling opposition thru restrictions on speech and packing the courts with allies who will support them in this effort. The big media outlets are already theirs.

Our best hope is that they will overreach and try to do too much too soon and tip their hand causing enough people to scream loudly and put a brake on their agenda. But if they do this right they can get just about anything they want thru the congress and Hussein will, of course, sign off on anything they bring him.

I also do not believe that economic reality is going to deter them much. Reality has never been a big deal to the left and there is no reason to believe they will treat it any differently this time. What will stop them is if conditions are such that it is literally impossible to proceed. But if things are that bad the party designation of the people in government will be largely irrelevant anyway.

I really, really hope I am wrong about this.

Chairman Obama may be forced to dissemble and demagogue from the center, but in the words of the odious Algore:
“A leopard never changes its stripes”.

Actually, if it wasn't for the fawning press, most people would realize he's an incredible dullard.

he’s trying to destroy the economy. That’s the whole point. If they wanted a return to the Clinton years, they would have picked Hillary.
