I'm with you. I was just thinking the same thing after reading the story. This isn't community service...its community servitude. Its similar to Obama’s desire to take more tax dollars from the supposed rich rather than encouraging people to voluntarily help their fellow man...he'd rather take your $$ and your volunteerism by force rather than giving you the choice and freedom in the matter. And to think the left was complaining about the loss of our liberties under Bush (and he's only just begun).

First, good luck getting most any of that age group to do anything "required." Maybe he should take a look at the reality of the government's trying to enforce required attendance at school, required appropriate behavior at school and in public places, required obeying the law, required safe sex, etc. Dismal, catastrophic, bleak and failed waste of taxpayer money. I guess parents/guardians will be fined if the kids don't show, or misbehave while "on duty."

Second, what does this have to do with anything? I "understood" his "college plan" was to "pay" for "college for everyone." But, why do 11 year olds need this requirement? (I know, I know... it's the endoctrination, STUPID!)
