LOL. Well, have fun explaining your position to the IRS, Melissa. Especially considering you'll fall in the highest of the tax brackets under Dear Leader.

Well Melissa I guess you’re not a patriot then, because as “plugs” biden told us to pay taxes is patriotic. Come on Melissa do your part to support the chosen one.

BTW, I wonder how many Wall Street supporters of Obama are busily setting up offshore accounts?

There is a way for the little darling to accomplish this. Give away her vast wealth, and retire to a low income apartment in Hollywood. Then the government will GIVE her money.

Hey Melissa, I would say I want my pie but,,,nevermind. Maybe those of us who didn’t vote for Hussein can just decide to stop paying our taxes too.

"For 'tis the sport to have the enginer / Hoist with his owne petar"
-- Shakespeare, Hamlet III iv.

"Hoist" was in Shakespeare's time the past participles of a verb "to hoise", which meant what "to hoist" does now: to lift. A petard (see under "peter out" for the etymology) was an explosive charge detonated by a slowly burning fuse. If the petard went off prematurely, then the sapper (military engineer; Shakespeare's "enginer") who planted it would be hurled into the air by the explosion. (Compare "up" in "to blow up".) A modern rendition might be: "It's fun to see the engineer blown up with his own bomb."

It tickles me that the blacks overwhelmingly voted against Gay Marriage. They must not have liked the comparisons between The Civil Rights movement and the Gay Rights movement. The equivalence that implied had to be insulting.

Also I suspect many Gays secretly voted against Gay Marriage because this way they can have their fun without having to marry and blame it on "Homophobes". That is a hustle they don't want to lose.

Heh. Black turnout in California was high due to Obama, and blacks overwhelmingly voted for Prop 8. Melissa, dear, you are calling blacks bigots and that’s something that just isn’t done.

Well, that is what we need, a tax revolt by the highly inbred intellectual elite of Hollywood and show business.

Melissa Etheridge may want to consider moving to Amsterdam, or some other place that has more liberal views than California as a whole.

"Anyways, she and I are not allowed the same right under the state constitution as any other citizen."

Whoa, I read the article, but I must be missing something. Wasn't prop 8 about defining what marriage is (between one man and one woman)? Is anyone denying her or the roommate the right to marry (under the definition that's been in place since the beginning of this country)? If they are, she has a point and should not pay taxes.

People who support "gay marriage" are already on the losing end of the argument by the term itself. When you have to qualify a term such as marriage to be "gay marriage". That must mean that everyone in the world understands that word to mean between one guy and one gal. To get your point across, you have to qualify or change the definition. We're not the ones changing the definition Melissa, you are!!!

Thank you for this explanation. I always thought, wrongly, that the “petard” was a weapon similar to a pike.
