Washington, DC -- When the time comes for Barack Obama to make his first selection for the Supreme Court, Harold Hongju Koh, the dean of Yale Law School, is one of the people on his short list. A Koh nomination would be a severe blow to the pro-life movement as he would assuredly vote to uphold Roe v. Wade.

question: Aren’t there judges that are for abortion yet understand and agree that R Vs W is a bad ruling and should be over turned regardless to their opinion on abortion?

Well, if he replaces a lefty on the SC it’s a loss, but it’s not as bad as him replacing one of the four conservatives or swing voter Kennedy.

Just as alarming: Tozzi notes that Koh's academic writings have redefined sovereignty as “a nation’s capacity to participate in international affairs,” and have blurred any distinctive national identity.

"Koh goes on to say that the way a nation exercises sovereignty responsibly is to accept all United Nations (UN) documents and the UN human rights review process," Tozzi writes.

Tozzi says Koh authored an influential “friend-of-the-court” brief arguing for the incorporation of international norms in a death penalty case. The same arguments could be applied to abortion to make the U.S. comply with the pro-abortion sentiments of the UN.

A selection from the CPUSA membership rolls will probably end up as his short list. It really does not matter, as long as any new justice would vote like Ginsberg and work hard to install socialism as an American institution. To that list, you can add the “new” practice of the allowing the courts to legislate from the bench, and make decisions based on liberalism and socialism, as opposed to the written law.

Expect that attempt as well.

There is no way Obama would select this guy. He is SO partisan that I’ll bet even some democrats would help filibuster.

O will get to replace at least two Justices during his term.

Ginsburg probably right after inauguration. I wouldn't be surprised at all if Kennedy is the other.

The 4 REAL justices (Scalia, Roberts, Thomas, and Alito) are probably not going anywhere. Neither is Kennedy, who gets off on the power. Let’s hope they have good health.

We must pray for our Chief Justice, our three conservative Justices, and Justice Kennedy. That they be blessed with good health, happiness, and not leave the Court during Zero.

There’s no rule that ‘9’ is the number of justices that should be the Supreme Court. Obama is not limited to replacing justices ... he can appoint 10 more justices and bump the number up to 19.

Someone else mentioned this the other night. They said FDR had “tried it”. Has there ever been a time on the court where there are more than nine?

I’m fully expecting the second coming of Herod on the Supreme Court. Anyone who thinks we’ll get justices sympathetic to the pro-life cause is living in another dimension.

Justice Kennedy is the Judas (read: so-called Catholic) who stands between the liberals and the end of Roe v. Wade.

The damage that man has done is incalculable.

The good news is that if anyone can benefit from our prayers, it’s him. I pray God changes his heart.
