Are males becoming an endangered species?

That's the question scientists and researchers have been pondering since alarming trends in male fertility rates, birth defects and disorders began emerging around the world.

More and more boys are being born with genital defects and are suffering from learning disabilities, autism and Tourette's syndrome, among other disorders.

Male infertility rates are on the rise and the quality of an average man's sperm is declining, according to some studies.

But perhaps the most disconcerting of all trends is the growing gender imbalance in many parts of heavily industrialized nations, where the births of baby boys have been declining for many years...

I am shocked that the article did not say, “Bush’s Fault”. The media is slipping lately.

Stop aborting babies and maybe we won’t have a shortage of males on the planet.

It’s Obama’s fault now.

This is not happening in ‘developing’ countries.

No, no, no. Don’t you know that nothing will be Obama’s fault? Anything bad will be the result of the terrible mess he was handed.

BTW, why does the press love these health scare stories so much? I think this is completely bogus.

Good for you!

We did our bit - 2 sons and 4 grandsons. I’m just glad our sons are too old and our grandsons too young to be drafted into the Obama Youth Brigade.

BTW, why does the press love these health scare stories so much?

I heard an interview with the late Micheal Crichton (RIP) played today where he was asked about this. He said he was shunned because he wasn't a "catastrophist". A story like "world getting slightly warmer mostly due to natural causes, not a big problem" isn't nearly as much fun for the press looming catastrophic destruction.

Ironically, many of his novels deal with looming catastrophy brought on by scientific miscalculation.

One of my sons is 17 years old - perfect age for BO to draft after he incompetently gets us into a war.

If his economic policies fail, which is highly likely, he’ll need a war to get us out of recession.

Glad your circumstances are less frightening.

“That’s the question scientists and researchers have been pondering since alarming trends in male fertility rates, birth defects and disorders began emerging around the world.’

Is there any suggestion that modern lifestyles play a role. Men in general are not as physically active as they once were. Drugs and narcotics usage are much more prevalent than when I was a young man. And more ...

There are a lot of chemicals floating around ... For example, the levels of estrogen in the water supply are often very high: the byproducts of birth control pills that are passed into the water supply by womens' urine.

Lots of hormones in meat, too. And there's lots of evidence building up about chemicals released from various plastics.

Declining sperm counts in western males are a scientifically established fact.

Of course it is bogus. It is superstitious nonsense start to finish, and the left lives for superstitious nonsense. Why are they hypochondriacs, all of them? 'Cause they are all going to die. And they have no frame to cope with that, none at all. So they project it onto everything else.

Both of which cause a Testosterone drop.

This topic is too huge to be adequately addressed in a flick or article in any way remotely resembling comprehensive "address" or "coverage". In shortform, American life has been hostile to males since the 60s. And, in a declining population density, it is biologically more normal to have more females survive, than males.

Be born male in America, and no doubts, the bad vibes seep out of walls, and mother's milk.

I have five sons, with no birth defects. Well, one of them is bats, but I’m pretty sure that’s environmental.

And my husband is functioning just fine, thanks.
