Mitt Romney would have broken Barack Obama like a cheap toy.

Despite the image problems facing the Republican Party, the former Massachusetts Governor would have conquered Obama without breaking a sweat. In a time of economic turmoil, voters would have turned to Romney to steer the country through choppy fiscal waters.

Romney was the thinking man’s choice for the GOP nomination. A success in both the business and political worlds, Romney presented the best opportunity to revive the Reagan vision in years. Like Obama, Romney was a handsome, well-spoken, highly intelligent figure who held out hope for a positive future.

It’s a deep shame that Romney couldn’t seal the deal in the GOP primaries. His exit from the race was a harsh blow to the Republican Party and to the country itself. Today, conservatives are questioning whether Obama will govern from the center or from the hard left. Had Romney been the GOP nominee, no one would have had an opportunity to ask that question.

Romney was a dynamic, visionary leader in the private and public sectors, a big-picture thinker and a committed conservative. As President, he would have stimulated the economy, reinforced the country’s security bulwarks and advanced the goals of those who believe in a culture of life. In addition to maintaining the support of the GOP base, he would have easily attracted moderates and independents, thus denying Obama the Presidency.

Remember Romney’s soul-stirring speech on faith and his peerless performances in the GOP primary debates? Imagine how Romney would have performed against Obama in the Presidential debates. He would have disciplined Obama, pointing out the inherent foolishness of his economic positions and ridiculing his liberal vision of the federal judiciary. Obama would have felt like he came out on the bad end of a Chicago street fight.

This is called Monday morning quarterbacking. “Woulda coulda shoulda” gets Conservatives NOWHERE.

In other words - SHUT UP with the blame game.

Barack Obama is President — Conservatives had better start looking to the future and rebuilding a principled coalition that can retake the Republican Party, or create another viable vehicle to save our country. And Conservatives had better do it quickly. If not, Obama and all his Socialist pals will swipe it right out from under us while we bicker and backbite about who bought Sarah’s hose or which idiot strategist has a gossip problem.

OH — and, Romney would have lost too. AND MORMON’S ARE NOT POLYGAMISTS (for over 100 years)! GIVE IT A REST.

I totally concur, Romney was my choice.

People fear a Mormon but not a Marxist Muslim?

Romney would have won going away and with Palin on his hip, would have crushed Oplugs by 15%.

Hey if someone with as questionable a background, poor judgment, AND a history of radicalism can become President, anybody can!! The one just lowered the bar tremendously.

I agree with that. I don’t know how the author defines success, but MA is no success.

Still he would be a far cry better than the one.

Romney is a liar, a flip-flopper, and a duplicitous and despicably petty little man.

He should be run out of the GOp forever.

Oh, a billionaire globalist would do that? I doubt it, they are two sides of the same coin to freedom loving Americans.

IMHO either Romney (telegenic - looks very good on TV) or Hucklebee (can connect to Main Street Americans like Palin) had a chance to beat BO and both are governors who had to make decisions and more likely to say what they mean. Problem with Senators are they are in Wash DC too long and develop a style of speach that tries not to offend anyone unless they are losing in the polls. 2008 is still a tough year for GOP who are identified with corporate America and Wall Street, and Wall Street pulled a boner on 25 Sep 2008 and within one month destroyed 2 trillion dollars worth of GDP (Bin Laden is jealous that Wall Street was able to outdo him in destroying the US, I hear he might recruit them for his jihad). The only hope the GOP have is BO and the Dems go too far to the left that his supporters will conclude that is not the change they wanted and will consider the GOP in 2010 mid elections and 2012 elections.

Communication is the key to victory. Look at the last 6 Repub candidates, its amazing we won 3 of those contests with the inarticulate group we ran;

Bush 88 - won - the Duke just looked too stupid in the tank
Bush 92 - lost to smooth talking (lying) Clinton
Dole 96 - what else can I say? whatever?
Bush 00 - Gore talked nonsense (lock box) green taxes
Bush 04 - No one could stand Kerry - not even the Dems
McCain 08 - a Dem in Repub clothing - RINO supreme - the MSM and Dems candidate

Hey lets nominate a young articulate person (Jindal) in 2012 who
can take it to the people and stand up for us and themselves.

You’ve obviously never read the Book of Mormon. You ought to try it. Its quite entertaining.

Only make sure your tinfoil hat is firmly on when you do.

Sorry, but AFAIC, Joseph Smith was the L. Ron Hubbard of his day.

". Maybe he’ll be a uniter like McCain. Maybe he’ll “reach out”

Why not? he did it throughout his tenure as governor of Massachussetts. Romney is a huge fraud.

"I think both Romney or Huckabee could have done better against Obama."

You're kidding, right? Romney's a fraud and a charlatan, and Huckabee's a socialist.

I’m sure Romney’s a really nice guy, and obviously knows how to make money. However, as a candidate in this election I really think he would’ve fallen short. He would’ve reminded everyone of the rich CEO’s who were so despised once the economy tanked. Obama’s campaign would’ve had a field day connecting him to the Wall Street villains the same way he always connected McCain to Bush (unfairly but repeatedly). Between the number of conservatives who didn’t trust him, and the rest of the general population who would’ve resented him, he would’ve lost to Obama.

Well, lol, that's what such a terrific irony for me. If there's any group who has learned about the deleterious results and effects in straying from the normative values of "one man and one woman" equals "marriage - it's the Mormons.

They'd have absolutely every best interest in the world to prove they are law abiding, given the stereotype they've gotten over years and years. The mainline Mormon religion and temples do not promote polygamy.

It's such a haha to see the gays screaming bloody hell at the Mormons, to me. ("By Jove, those danged Mormons are FOR supporting the laws of the Land and in Christendom!") The gays just look really stupid.

Every time I see another headline about gays protesting the mormons? This silly visual enters my head -- that gays are hopping mad that the Mormons aren't FOR polygamy. Are gays for polygamy? Do they feel the Mormons sold them out? Do gays privately think they are the real Mormons??? lol.

Anyway, if Mott Romney had won the office of President, the "marriage" inits in CA, AZ, and FLA still would have won.

Not funny for the Mormons, and I count several Mormons as among my dearest friends. But the gays doing these protests just look stupid, infantile, and viscious. Like thugs on Viagra.

No way a Mormon could become President not until they solve the polygamy thing

The LDS Church ended polygamy in 1890 to gain statehood. Mitt Romney is a member of that LDS church, NOT the splinter groups that still practice polygamy. Okay, that's solved, could Mitt Romney become President?

The truth is, Romney would have made a better President than Obama and the country will pay dearly as a result of its bigotry towards that white man.

“You’re kidding, right?”

I am not kidding.

Obama was vulnerable to withering counter attacks on a wide variety of issues from his tax plan, his utopian internationalism and his radical left-wing domestic nostrums.

Only until the last month of the campaign was the tax issue was to some scrutiny.

I would greatly prefer to be considering the prospects of 4 years under a President Huckabee or a President Romney than President Obama.

Romney’s proven financial expertise would be useful now.

“Romney is a liar, a flip-flopper, and a duplicitous and despicably petty little man.

All you McCain defenders, who swore for months that ALL polls were wrong, that McCain would win easily, will sing a different tune once McCain rams through his amnesty bill, and gleefully hands Obama the pen personally for signature.

Come to think of it, McCain’s silence about the Palin debacle speaks volumes about the fact that HE is actually the one throwing her under the bus, but Romney is WORSE?

BULLSPIT.
