The night we waved goodbye to America... our last best hope on Earth
Daily Mail UK ^ | Peter Hitchens

-snip-

I was in Washington DC the night of the election. America’s beautiful capital has a sad secret. It is perhaps the most racially divided city in the world, with 15th Street – which runs due north from the White House – the unofficial frontier between black and white. But, like so much of America, it also now has a new division, and one which is in many ways much more important. I had attended an election-night party in a smart and liberal white area, but was staying the night less than a mile away on the edge of a suburb where Spanish is spoken as much as English, plus a smattering of tongues from such places as Ethiopia, Somalia and Afghanistan.

As I walked, I crossed another of Washington’s secret frontiers. There had been a few white people blowing car horns and shouting, as the result became clear. But among the Mexicans, Salvadorans and the other Third World nationalities, there was something like ecstasy.

They grasped the real significance of this moment. They knew it meant that America had finally switched sides in a global cultural war. Forget the Cold War, or even the Iraq War. The United States, having for the most part a deeply conservative people, had until now just about stood out against many of the mistakes which have ruined so much of the rest of the world.

Suspicious of welfare addiction, feeble justice and high taxes, totally committed to preserving its own national sovereignty, unabashedly Christian in a world part secular and part Muslim, suspicious of the Great Global Warming panic, it was unique.

"It remains to be seen how we as a people deal with the tyrannists who have now pulled off a bloodless revolution.'

They'll be silenced and subdued one way or another.

This has to be one of the best things I have read concerning this election.

&&&&&

My thoughts exactly, sad to say. I am going to save it to show people in the years to come.

"There is no hope left on earth, save Christ returning. That was probably God's plan all along."

Gods plan all along was to rescue those who will follow from this earth. The Millenium of the Lord is over.

"On these grounds is sentence pronounced: that though the light has come into the world men have shown they prefer darkness to the light because their deeds were evil." (Jn.3:19). "When the thousand years are over, Satan will be released from his prison and will come out to deceive all the nations in the four quarters of the earth, God and Magog, and mobilize them for war".

"His armies will be as many as the sands of the sea; they will come swarming over the entire country and besiege the camp of the saints..." (Rv.20:7-9).

Times up. And in case your wondering how 1 thousand years became 2:

"Is this not written in the Book of the Just? The sun stood still in the middle of the sky and delayed its setting for almost a whole day (making one day into almost two)." (Joshua 10:12-13). "The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom; the knowledge of the Holy One -- perception indeed! For days are multiplied by me and years of life increased." (Prov.9:10-11).

“WOW! What a read and this guys is dead-on. Especially the paragraph:
They preferred to posture on the world stage. Scared of confronting Left-wing teachers and sexual revolutionaries at home, they could order soldiers to be brave on their behalf in far-off deserts. And now the US, like Britain before it, has begun the long slow descent into the Third World. How sad. Where now is our last best hope on Earth?

The typical Rockefeller country club republican is a disaster, shows cowardice in the face of conflict, sees “compromise” as the highest value and needs to be purged from the party. PRINCIPLED Conservatives MUST take over. We’d better get ready to fight or this guys prophecy of a slow descent will be true. I’m not ready to concede yet! “

Well said. And you know what the Republican “powers-that-be” take from this election? That we were not moderate ENOUGH! And should have been more INCLUSIVE!

Feh. The first thing we MUST do is tighten down the nominating process; only registered Republicans should be able to vote in the primaries. Secondly, too much weight is given to the early primaries in states that are anything but party strongholds.

Don’t you think the first states in the process should be SOLID RED states? Trash this Iowa first stuff - we have GOT TO GET THIS RIGHT.

I think I have my Brits confused. Is this the guy who endorsed Obama in Slate Mag., saying that Palin was so insufferably horrible that any Repub. who even endorsed her should be out of office?

After you minions absorb numerous tax hikes and foreign policy disasters, may you hurl in gold plated vomit bags that float down from the majestic Muslim heavens.
