Half-correct, I hope. He will be neutralized by a freshly energized, more conservative Republican Party. As for becoming a national joke, he will achieve that distinction in no time at all.

Unfortunately you cannot become a national joke unless the national jesters anoint you one. That's not going to happen (at least I don't think it will).
