This admittedly does not sound so bad; the plan effectively pays $40 an hour. To be fair, though, a service member who performs 2000 or more hours of duty would have to get $80,000 toward college per year of service.
In time of war and the draft is reinstated if my children already aren’t in the military then our family will do what is expected of us, like our parents and grandparents before us did.
The instant this a*****e sends his goons to my door to force my children into slavery for the sole purpose of helping to support those too lazy to do for themselves then I truly believe it might be the day I meet my maker, preferably dragging a few brownshirts with me.

No, this plan doesn’t sound so bad, however, his language on his proposed ideas were changed for a period of time. The original language offered credit. Then the wording changed language and did did not include college credit for service. It only said 100 hours of service required for college students. There were complaints about this, and now the new language is back to what he originally stated - which involves credit. So, what is it credit or required, or both?
Bet you lunch that working to get him re-elected will count towards your community service.
Regarding the college tuition thing- wouldn’t we all be better served if the college bound got a real job doing something real to earn money for tuition ?
And isn’t this option already available ?
And under a program like this whats to stop someone from getting the 4k for college, burning through the money and flunking out , then going back and “volunteering” some more and going - there are lots of people n this country who truly have nothing to do and like it that way
SO they can sit in the doctors office getting free medical acre, do a little volunteer work , go to school for a while, wash, rinse repeat.
He also states “some Republicans will squeal about “individual rights”” when it comes to this idea. These guys would make Mao proud.
