He did NOT support it at first, and demanded that ACORN be removed. He stood up against Bush and said NO, until ACORN was removed. I’m NOT in his district, but I can tell you he is still very well liked, and admired in his district.

I really don’t care if folks love him in his district. He isn’t just one congressman. He by choice pursued leadership and it’s his duty to represent and set the agenda for the House Republicans. he chose to use that authority to push the bailout and if you really believe Acorn funding was at the heart and soul of the opposition to that legislation then you don’t understand what we’re really about anymore then he does. And clearly you don’t understand the majority of the voters who disapproved of it either. Going to be hard to re-capture that majority for House Republicans when their own leader failed to grasp or care about the public’s view on government using their money to bail out incompetant or corrupt lenders.
