As he prepares to take office, President-elect Barack Obama is relying on a small team of advisers who will lead his transition operation and help choose the members of a new Obama administration. Following is part of a series of profiles of potential members of the administration.
The New Team A series of profiles of potential members of the Obama administration.
Name: Jamie Gorelick
Being considered for: Attorney general
Would bring to the job: A wide-ranging Washington résumé that spans corporate, legal and national security affairs. Ms. Gorelick (pronounced Guh-REH-lick) was the No. 2 official at the Justice Department in the Clinton administration, from 1994 to 1997, and if chosen would be the second woman to be named attorney general, following her former boss, Janet Reno. Ms. Gorelick would also bring corporate experience to an Obama administration at a time of financial crisis.
Is linked to Mr. Obama by: Deep contacts in Democratic circles and a background in civil rights. But Ms. Gorelick backed Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton in the Democratic primaries and contributed early on to her campaign, which could work against her as a contender. She contributed $10,000 to Mr. Obamas presidential political action committee in August, after his nomination was all but assured.
In her own words: You know someone respected you if they called you sir, Ms. Gorelick said, alluding to the glass ceiling at the Pentagon, where she worked as general counsel in the 1990s. Maam is what you call your mom.

Beat ya to it, bro'.
I mass emailed that quote and the article to all my oil & gas buds awhile ago.
When we get attacked again, we can blame her. Of course we tried to warn the morons out there this is what you will get with an 0bama presidency. But noooo, no one wanted to accept the truth.
I guess so.
The same players! The sleaziest of all the beltway insiders. What a crock of HOPE all this cluster CHANGE is!
She should be facing charges over Fannie Mae.
End the culture of corruption.
Not a bit. My bet is she ends up a Senate Majority Leader replacing the weak, feckless, idiotic Reid.
Arent there other people in America...maybe the Doe family?
why is it always the sme old faces?
I have posted on her before - and half expected her to show up. If you examine her deeds alone, she may be the very exemplar of evil. If I made a list of the 5 people who have done the most damage to modern America, along with that fat f*ck Ted Kennedy, she would figure prominently.
You're still hard at work extracting them beautiful gaseous resources, ain'tcha? Good on ya! Extract harder an harder, Mr. NAILER!!!
Who does she have pictures of and what are they doing in those pictures?
However, she will need it...
The fact that the evil witch Gorelick can even be mentioned as a serious candidate for AG shows how badly both the Media and the Republicans have failed this nation (the Democrats too, but they are obviously incorrigible).
She is directly and deeply implicated in both national security and economic catastrophes, yet her name can still be tossed out there as a credible candidate for AG.
UNREAL, hardly anyone outside of places like FR knows or cares what an utter charlatan fraud she is.
You’ve have got to effing kidding me???????
and if this b!tch gets in as AG, how much do you want to bet that she ignores every threat out there while vigorously pursuing charges against George W. Bush.
She’s a smart cookie. First, she put the system in place that was largely responsible for 9/11. Then she got herself appointed to the 9/11 Commission and wrote the report exonerating herself and clinton and blaming it on Bush—under whose leadership she was appointed to that Commission.
Just the kind of person Obama wants working for him. Corrupt, ruthless, and very smart.
Incompetent boobs appointing incompetent boobs. Oh, joy!
This may be a head fake. Remember when Clinton nominated all those far left women for AG (Zoe Baird, Lani Guenier). Then when they were disqualified, everyone was so relieved when he finally got to Janet Reno, they let her sail through.
O’s staff has to know that all of Gorelick’s dirty laundry will be put on display with this nomination and that would not be a positive way to start his administration.
Gorelick may be pulled back and someone even worse nominated in her stead and everyone will be relieved.
These are the Clinton’s people. We watched them in action for 8 long years. We “read their book”. I hope the GOP isn’t deceived by this rookie move.
Patton: “Rommel, you magnificent bastard. I read your book.”
Oh my goodness.
