As protests continue across California, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger still has hope that his state will once again allow same-sex marriages.
Schwarzenegger seems hopeful that the California Supreme Court will overturn Proposition, the newly passed ban on gay marriage.
"It's unfortunate, obviously, but it's not the end," Schwarzenegger said in an interview on CNN this morning. "I think that we will again maybe undo that, if the court is willing to do that, and then move forward from there and again lead in that area."
He also said that Proposition 8 should affect the gay couples already married in California when same-sex marriages were legal.
Governor Schwarzenegger has previously opposed gay marriage and later decided that he didn't care if it was legal or not. It looks like someone has officially decided to support same sex nuptials!
I still can't believe McCain had this creep campaigning for him or that Sean Hannity attended fundraisers for him.
a.s.
is a closet democrat.
I think this is about as close a Republican as my state will ever elect for Governor.
So why bother to vote on anything if you’re content to live under a tyranny of judges?
Looks like he and Newsome must have gone out drinking together..that or it is in the water up in that neck of the Kalifornia woods.
and arnie suggests he is..... a democrat.
RECALL SCHWARZENEGGER.
The liberal insanity continues to spread. The will of the people means nothing to these faux-reality socialists.
Where’s all the Schwarzenegger bootlickers who were so vocal during the recall election?
On what basis can they overturn it? They threw out an earlier anti gay marriage law because they claimed it was unconstitutional. Prop 8 is an amendment to the constitution, so they are had in that regard. The anti 8 people tried to get the ca supreme court to throw out the initiative before it went to vote but they were denied. There is no recourse at the state level any more, it now has to go federal.
For all his blather about not livinb under socialism, here he goes...
He was always a closet democRAT.. and the only reason he was elected was Davis was so much worse.
He has to go.
Got a clue for youy Arny...this was an amendment to the Constitution. The CA Supreme Court CAN'T overturn it. They have to live by it.
The only way you will get past it is to amend the constitution again and the people just voted on this one.
SARAH PALIN TRUMPS LIBERALISM...AND IT DRIVES THEM CRAZY
This should just about finish Arnold off in CA. Arrogance doesn’t go over well with the voters.
Exactly. And if elections are irrelevant, then there is no Governor of Kalifornia.
Jesus Christ. This country and its states are run by MORONS!
Arnold came into office always talking about the ‘’will of the people’’! WHAT HAPPENED?!!
Why even have propositions on the ballot? The people have spoken.
I would like to see this reported in a more mainsteam publication. I wonder how much of this was interpretation by the quoted news source? We certainly have seen a lot of liberal interpretation during this election season and, perhaps, this is one more example.
Just me, but I am putting away my hatchet until this shows up in the more mainstream press.
Living in this state I hate to say we can not afford to recall Arnold we are basically broke, I am looking at an increase of possibly 1-1/2% sales tax increase which currently in my county we pay 8.75%, we have water mandatory rationing in my county, we have awful schools, we are supporting people who should not be here so to recall Arnold would be a waste of money to the state sorry to say. We are a state with one of the highest foreclosures, our jobs are being deported not the people who should be.......we will be looking at soon what New York is facing. If we recall him we will only get a Democrat and the choices could be Gavin Newsom, LA Mayor it will not make a difference.
Governator, you are wrong on this. California voters spoke. Don’t you dare cave to a minority of unhappy campers making a majority of noise. The voters spoke. “Like it or not.” (to quote Newsome).
