A civil rights organization in Kansas has launched a campaign to designate Nov. 4 as a national holiday, commemorating the election of Barack Obama as president. The first president elected due to his race.

Why don’t we wait until events unfold a little, a more appropriate date may yet present itself...like his birthday perhaps, or the anniversary of his signing of a major piece of legislation...or perhaps something else...

I have a better idea. I’d like to see national election day every 4 years declared a national holiday .... that way people won’t have to try to vote in the few hours before and after work. (Yes, I know employers are supposed to allow you time to vote, but many discourage taking time off to vote).
I think a lot more people would vote plus it would send a message that this in an IMPORTANT event.

Scroggins told WND that America has for too long focused on what our ancestors did during legalized slavery, but the election of Obama shows that we no longer allow race and gender to be the deciding factors in guiding our nation, but integrity and honor. It's liberals who can't move past the slavery years. They dwell there because they believe they need to in order to keep african americans "riled" up so they will continue to vote for the democrats. So if liberals finally move into the present what are they going to do to convince african americans they are oppressed?

Just one day!!!
2008 should be declared the Year of Obama.
Time Mag’s Man of the Universe.
The Obama States of America.
Planet Obama.
Obama: America’s permanent President.
Let us pray.

OK, take away Martin Luther King day as a trade!

Good idea. Most libs do not work anyway and have an advantage. The ones that do would probably take the opportunity to get wasted the night before and sleep the next day. Brilliant!

November 4th, isn't that conviently special. When are they gonna put his face on coins and bills and hang it outside all around towns across the country? When are they going to start building shrines for this guy in cities across the nation? It hasn't even been a week and they already want to immortalize this guy? These people are drunk on charism0.

How about a national holiday commemorating the fisrt time in history a President ever voted “present”.

"It's liberals who can't move past the slavery years."They just voted slavery back in. Ironic when you think about it.

"The reason why I want to have this holiday is because it marks the day America grew effed up," said Sonny Scroggins, founder and president of Bias Busters of Kansas, the organization pushing for the holiday.There. Fixed it.
