McCain advocated he would seek to close GITMO on Day 1 of his presidency and move the prisoners to Ft. Leavenworth.
IIRC, even McCain’s extended growth, Lindsey Graham, also says he would push for closing GITMO and moving the ‘detainees’ to US court jurisdiction.

I’d rather they were detained in Leavenworth than registered to vote Democrat and given welfare until they can afford to by bombs again in some unknown city.
