Rosebud
Robert Oscar Samuel Edward Benjamin Ulysses David
Anybody else remember that piece of TV trivia? It immediately popped into my head.
Then there’s Citizen Kane’s use of the word.
Isn’t it some sort of security leak to let this sort of into into the public domain?

Richard Rosebud Petrie, of course.

I remember the Columbo episode in which a doctor used the word “Rosebud” as an attack word for his Doberman Pinschers.

“Rosebud” was actually Randolph Hearst’s pet name for his mistress. The specific reference is not for general consumption.

The Dick Van Dyke Show was before my time — this is rarely the case! — but I do remember one of the few episodes I have seen. In it, Rob and Laura explained that the reason Richie's middle name is Rosebud is because that's an mnemonic for all the names R and L toyed with naming their son: Robert, Oscar, Samuel, Edward, Ulysses, David.

Dick Van Dyke Show.
E.D.W.A.R.D.
BTW: Name someone who was on both “Fibber McGee and Molly” and “Dick Van Dyke.”
