he triggered the first Republican Gov in Maryland in the last 40 years.
The Bushes need to take a long break from the GOP. Or vice versa.
Palin/Romney...That is a winning ticket right there!!!!
Actually, an extremely weak Democrat candidate triggered Ehrlich’s governorship. Ehrlich almost won a second term, but there’s are just toom many Rats in Maryland.
Precisely. Anyone that doesn’t think Steele played a significant role on that ticket in Maryland is fooling themselves. On his own in a bad year for Republicans he did manage to stay very close in the Senate race as well.
I like him, and would satisfied with him as head of the RNC. Newt? Not so much. He’s enamored with “bi-partisanship” and Hillary’s interesting ideas on health care and Al Gore’s wisdom on global warming.
Newt is an idea man, and is not good at management. In fact, he’s terrible at it.
It would be far better to have someone at the helm who has better executive skills and let Newt be Mr. Idea Guy for the RNC.
Didn’t Newt work with Hillary Clinton on a health care proposal?
Yuk...trying to use Sarah's draw to force Romney down our throats!!
The Republican Party will become a third party if it nominates "another McCain."McCain was in the Senate far too long before getting the nomination to have expected to win the election. No one who has been in the Senate for 14 years, even, has ever been elected POTUS. And the same goes for governors as well - 14 years after you first get elected governor, if you haven't attained at least the VP position you will not ever win election to POTUS.
We have to have a nominee who will insure that its campaign - read, its VP candidate - is willing and able to tell the truth about the Obama Administration. Because it is only too clear that journalism will do its "best" to prevent that. Just like it did this year. By smearing the Republican ticket - and the Republican constituency - as being racist. Just like Bill Clinton did back in '93 when Rudy Guliani was running against NYC Mayor David Dinkins.
- McCain was an author of McCain-Feingold, an unconstitutional "law" which undoubtedly helped reduce the field of Republican contenders before the primaries even started. Ronald Reagan couldn't have run under McCain-Feingold, for example.
- McCain was too fascinated with the idea of being a "nonpartisan in the military tradition" to allow his campaign to execute a core duty of giving the public a clear idea of what it could reasonably expect from an Obama Administration.
Get over it, Steele would be perfect.
I like this ticket
But you want Newt in on strategy. Steele is fine as the front man.
You have my positive vote!
NO He killed her plan
Chrisite Todd Whitman and her pal Michael Steele think McCain was too conservative, LOL.
BTTGT
“Christe Todd Whitman”
If he’s associated with her I want NOTHING to do with him.
that weak candidate is the only “kennedy” to lose a race. plus she was and 8 year lt. gov. had everything on her side. I liked Erlich. To bad he lost to a quack.
god save us
