That is basically what he has said. Harping on it and crying isn’t helpful.

Your statement is nonsense.

We have all watched and been disgusted through the years as our so-called leaders, officials and assorted "public figures" who, when called-out for some sort of despicable behavior, issue what we Freepers have termed a "non-apology apology", e.g. "I regret if anyone was offended by my comments" instead of "I apologize for my offensive comments".

We are all too familiar with this cowardly "non-apology apology" ploy. McCain has now added the "non-defense defense" to his repertoire. He has disgraced himself by this shameful post-election behavior.

One silver-lining in all this for Sarah Palin is that it's now painfully apparent that in losing the election she and her family have personally "dodged a bullet" and will at least be able to return to living fulfilling and meaningful lives on their own terms.

In light of how things have played-out I have no doubt whatsoever that McCain's selecting her as his running mate was nothing more than a cynical, calculated ploy to fool conservatives into rallying to him. Had he won, Sarah Palin would have fulfilled her usefulness to him. She would have been told to keep quiet, and immediately relegated to the traditional impotent, inconsequential type of Vice-Presidential roles John Nance Gardner, FDR's Vice-President once described as "not worth a bucket of warm piss".

McCain cynically used her, just as he has used everyone around him throughout his life...

I say that’s a load of crap.

He weakens Palin if he makes it look like she needs defending.
And I think its despicable attacking McCain on Veterans day.
