Ready, Fire, Aim
The Washington Pest ^ | 11/12/08 | Kathleen Parker

Election Day has produced fresh fury from self-proclaimed "conservatives" promising never again to read me or fellow apostates who criticized the Republican ticket.

This is, of course, their right, but is this really the way to go about salvaging the Republican Party?...

Where to begin? As the circular firing squad commences and Republicans begin seeking answers to what went wrong -- and who will lead them through the desert -- here's one for the suggestion box: Don't shoot the messengers.

The impulse to blame someone -- anyone -- for what went wrong last week reminds parents of when a toddler falls down. Hurt and embarrassed, he will often walk up to his mother (or caregiver, as the case may be) and slap her to shift attention and assign blame.

In similarly childish behavior, those disappointed by the election of Barack Obama are slapping the heretics who expressed doubts about the McCain-Palin ticket. It's their fault that Obama won.

Good thinking. And turning on the kitchen light creates a roach problem....

I expressed doubts about the ticket and where it was weak as well.

McCain ran a lousy campaign.

You turned a light on alright, Kathleen. Trouble is, you’re one of the roaches. Now, scurry on ... shoo.

Wrong. The "messengers" are only carrier pigeons for the Marxists who carried out this coup. Fair game .

You know, she and Noonan, Will, etc, can bitch all they want about how “immature” we hateful Conservatives are, blah, blah, blah but I’ll be damned if I plan on reading, buying, patronizing in any way these turn coats. They can get their “moderate” friends to bankroll their life styles - I’m through! I’ve sent my copies of Noonan’s books back to her publisher - immature, I know, but it felt bloody good!!!!

I’m not a “self-proclaimed” conservative, I AM a conservative. It comes from what I believe, not what I claim to be.

I’m not upset about your expression of doubts about the McCain-Palin ticket, I’m upset about your attacks on Palin, the only conservative in the race.

..... promising never again to read me or fellow apostates who criticized the Republican ticket.

Bzzzt, wrong. It was your gushing praise for Obama and specific attacks on Palin that did the trick, Kat.

I guess we’re all gonna have to start putting Kathleen Parker Barf Alerts on our posts.

I loved the title Ready Fire Aim until I saw the author.

Criticizing Republican ticket = Good

Being wrong in your criticism while a Marxist was eating your lunch = Idiotic.

"McCain ran a lousy campaign."

No campaign would have been effective against the never ending barrage of attacks from MSM, and the entertainment industry.

The outright lies, character attacks repeated over and over non stop, while saying NOTHING about all the crap literally falling out of Obama's closet, plus the massive vote fraud drive Acorn pulled off across the entire country was too much for even the best run campaign to overcome. For McCain to get as close as he did was commendable.

Reading this garbage made me livid. Someone ask this moron when she is going to investigate the millions of questionable, if not absolutely corrupt, campaign contributions and expose which Middle Eastern country they came from; investigate and expose the voter fraud that aided the Socialist that was elected. I’ll be waiting for her column highlighting the Goebbel’s-style propaganda spewed by the MSM for the past two years. Ms. Parker, how about looking at yourself before pointing fingers since you are part of the reprehensible MSM?

Parker is a delusional, overpaid moron, that will, hopefully, be in the unemployment lines with the rest of America.

I remember the discussions here after the 2004 elections where we were worried that we might have destroyed the Democrat party. We actually argued if we should keep the Dems around to preserve the two-party system.

Good times....

Kathleen Parker is part of the problem. She needs to STFU and go back to her cocktail parties with Noonan and Brooks!
