It's now been over nine full days since Madelyn Payne Dunham--Barack Obama's thrown-under-the-bus "typical White" grandmother who raised him--died.
Yet, still no funeral. That's a pretty odd--not to mention, disrespectful--way to treat a grandmother you claim you love and who raised you, regardless of whether you are President-elect of the United States or just an average citizen. Regardless of whether you told the world she was a "typical White" racist.
It was understandable when Dunham first passed away at about 11:00 p.m. on November 2nd that Obama didn't rush back for a service and burial for his grandmother. He was in the closing days of a Presidential election campaign.

They think I’m a little weird, but have taken with the idea. They like the idea of wearing the diamonds to special occassions, like if I am there for grandchildren births and so on.

Honestly, this is intruding into a family’s private situation and arrangements that strikes me as improper and petty. We have far bigger issues to take object to in Obama’s policies than when he has a funeral service for his grandmother.
These days, it seems most people are creamated, and famiies (as well as the ashes) are scattered. When my mother died in early January in Chicago, given that our family would have to travel from various points around the US, we decided to hold the service in late April when travel to/from Chicago would be more feasible. It was certainly no sign of disrespect to my mother.
I’m going to assume that Ms. Dunham was cremated and that Obama and his sister made arrangements when he was in HI the week before she died (if she didn’t do so herself beforehand).
We should all just butt out.
Do atheists believe in having funerals? There’s no rush if the body’s been cremated. And some people keep their loved one’s ashes on a shelf or in a purse or wherever these days. (yes, I know of people who carry dead animal ashes around in their purses. and dead animal and human ashes on a book shelf.)

Yes. She was the only child. There's another grandchild, though, Obama's half-sister Maya, who lives in Hawaii. So maybe she and her husband are taking care of this.

As far as I can tell neither his wife or kids visited great grandma when they were on vacation in Hawaii or when she was dying. They probably won’t be at the funeral except as props if they do show at all.

BTW, haven't most evil dictators been categorized with this disorder, and had poor childhoods with strong mother figures, abusive then non-existant fathers?
