I, too spent many,many years in the Postal Service, albeit in several small offices. Never worked where we were issued our own round date stamp. At our offices, one dater was left on the counter for all to use. I have boxes and boxes of postal memorabilia, including special Inauguration Postmarks for both Bushes. I'll go through this stuff to find postmarks from late 70’s to late 80’s for comparison purposes.

By the way, for those that don’t know it yet...Zero stayed for a few days with a very highly placed Person while in Pakistan at the behest of someone now living in South America.
