Pawlenty Maneuvers With Governors(Palin Gagging)
human events ^ | 11/14/2008 | Jack Thompson

Posted on 11/14/2008 12:38:03 PM PST by winoneforthegipper

Pawlenty in Miami was publicly angry, agitated, and even cranky, possibly because he found himself at odds with the far more conservative tone of every other speaker here. Hundreds of RGA members, who paid thousands of dollars to attend this Conference, wildly applauded “red meat” conservative pronouncements by speakers and not the more moderate and conservative-jabbing words by Pawlenty. And then there’s his “Palin problem,” real or imagined, that hit the fan yesterday in front of the national media, possibly upon the insistence of Pawlenty himself, as the above-reported comments to CNN by an anonymous presidential aspirant indicate.

Pawlenty was on McCain’s short list for VP and he’s probably still bitter about being passed over. he was promoted by powerline, guys who also at the time very lukewarm to her as well.

He’s a RINO straight through who envisions running next for President as do Danials and Crist. I’m not certain which the establishment is going to try and forcefeed us next time, but they need to be isolated from any influence.

Pawlenty has an opportunity right now to win over conservatives. A strong showing in the Coleman/Dipsh6t recount by the sates Governor would go a long way toward seeing what Pawlenty is made of. Thus far?

Milquetoast.

Pawlenty seems like a nice enough RINO...

lacks star power that will be needed for 2012...the IT factor that Palin has and I feel Jindall has as well.

First i ever heard of this guy “Pawlenty”, was on a radio commercial for “we can solve it.org”,,those commercials where republican go on saying how the global warming/climate change scam is totally real.

He’s one of them. This climate thing is the keystone that opens us to Global Governance via the UN. It totally reorders our society and forces extreme changes on us if you buy that first compromise.

Media divide and conquer.

Really don't care when it comes to Pawlenty and anybody else of his ilk.

He's a RINO and the sooner he gets the message (and every other RINO) that they are not going to run the GOP the better.

So if the media is helping in this process, so be it!

The only way Pawlenty wins over conservatives is to walk away from the Man Made Global Warming Scam Bong and admit he was wrong, that the science behind it is weak to the point of being almost non-existent.

And even then, he is not trustworthy because he got on the PC bandwagon on this subject.

He is not a leader, he is a politician.

For the Job of President, we want someone who eats, breathes, believes, and lives according to conservative principles.

Additionaly, we need a communicator.

Pawlenty is not that leader!

Rule of thumb: Anyone the MSM mentions or has the slightest positive thing to say about is a certified Lib RINO.

The safe bet is to focus our attention on conservatives who are laughed at, marginalized or called “far right” by the media.

The “Republican governor eyeing a presidential run in 2012” appears to be Minnesota’s Tim Pawlenty. Pawlenty used his time at yesterday’s roundtable discussion to cast himself as the “modern” Republican while casting aspersions on the traditional conservative message, calling for outreach to the “new demographics,” deriding the GOP for allegedly being 15 years behind in the use of the Internet, and calling for the party not to be led by “a crank.” Pawlenty appears to have John McCain’s penchant for attacking conservatives rather than those in the other party.

I am a Minnesota Republican who has walked a good deal of hard road for Pawlenty. One thing I find incredibly galling about him is his penchant for growing in office i.e. growing in liberal persuasion. We won't catalogue it here, there will be plenty of time for that. I have met him personally two or three times. Until recently, no one would ever think him consumed by hubris.

Pawlenty in Miami was publicly angry, agitated, and even cranky, possibly because he found himself at odds with the far more conservative tone of every other speaker here.

Despite the fact that Obama received more than half the votes, McCain lost because he failed to draw the 63 million votes that Bush pulled four years ago. Then again, despite Bush's lackluster credentials as a domestic conservative, he at least ran as a conservative. Is there a clue in there somewhere?

And then there’s his “Palin problem,” real or imagined, that hit the fan yesterday in front of the national media, possibly upon the insistence of Pawlenty himself, as the above-reported comments to CNN by an anonymous presidential aspirant indicate.

I wonder what Pawlenty will think of his chances at the Oval Office, or even trhe nomination from the Republicans when he loses his next time out as a candidate for Governor of Minnesota.

We need to figure out ways to bypass the Establishment. Perhaps suggestions to Talk Radio and Fox News that featuring more real conservatives might increase their ratings. I’d love to see Palin guest-host Rush’s show some time (before the Fairness Doctrine gets imposed)

I do remember Daniels saying that the period of Reagan is over. Or something to that effect. It his a sour note with me, a Republican living in Indiana who otherwise thinks Mitch Daniels is a gem. He’s done magnificent things for Indiana and has really helped get our economy back on track. He also won his Governorship over the challenger Jill Long-Thompson by 18 points.

The GOP has to learn that its path to the majority is not the nebulous "middle" that constitutes voters who merely vote for the candidate that gives them the most "government donuts"--

The future of the party resides in that massive pool of voters who don't now go to the polls because they see no difference between the Dems and Pubs- the "uniparty"

This anti-Washington group gave an abysmal candidate (Perot) 20% of the vote- and overwhelming support the 1994 Gingrich Contract with America. They don't want "donuts" - or more accurately, they don't want anyone to get donuts. They are not liberal or conservative- they are simply traditional Americans.

Pawlenty is a real a@@ hole. He needs to be up in Minn taking care of business. If he lets that buffoon Franken win that seat I’ll puke.

In addition, I heard he was going to be on FOX News Sunday w/ Wallace. This guy is all over the place, it’s like he is trying to outdo Sarah at every turn. She of course takes the high road, goes back to AK to actually GOVERN!!

Couple of other points about the article, I also read early this week that WAS supposed to be Sarah’s press conference as well. I wondered when it came on why all of those other dorks were on the stage with her when obviously the press wanted to talk to HER.

Finally, I love this line from the end of the story:

“Palin chose not to have in Miami a Reagan-esque New Hampshire moment by saying something akin to “I’m paying for this microphone,” but that moment may come if anybody ever again tries to get between Sarah Palin and the national media — or something else she wants.”

I totally believe this.... Damn, I love this woman!!!

Look, the Republicans are actually Moderate Democrats. The candidates they put have NO fire in the belly, couldn't arouse a crowd if their life depended on it. McCain would have lost by nearly 30,000,000 votes if NOT for Palin. That's 30 Million!!

A glowing example of why America needs a strong, reputable, Conservative Party, and to flush the existing Republicans down the toilet bowl of history!

Pawlenty and Crist are part of the problem. Sanford and Palin are part of the solution.

We lost Minnesota and Florida. We won South Carolina and Alaska.

Pawlenty and Crist did not bring conservatives to the voting booth. We lost.

Sanford and Barbour are good leadership choices. If Pawlenty and Crist are uncomfortable with conservatives they may need to change their party affiliations.

When I read this stuff about those Governors at the meeting all I can see are a bunch of panty waisted whiners who have not valued the historical fact that the Republicans put up for Vice President...a WOMAN.....they needed to have held her up in high regard and honored her...instead they acted like a bunch of spoiled brats yelling....”no, not her...me, me, me”. If they had one ounce of the brain God is supposed to have given them, they would seize upon this woman’s popularity, build on it and put the first woman President in the White House....a REPUBLICAN history maker.

Pawlenty is a moderate Democrat as are most of the Republicans in Minnesota. They’re not over-the-cliff to the left far enough to run successfully on the DFL side of the house so they switch parties and run as Republicans. Coleman is another one.

Pawlenty needs to stay in the background, root for conservative ideas and shut up when he doesn’t agree with them.

He is- he flew all around Minnesota promoting wind and solar power.

I can just see how wonderful that kind of power source will be when the temp outside is minus 30 or so, and there is absolute NO wind, and it is cloudy, or it is 2 AM and dark.
No wind power—
No solar power—
