Thannk you for sharing. KBH does seem to be a bit tiring though.
But, she’s a dream compared to what others of us have to deal with (Kennedy and Kerry). Yuck.
Check the property taxes before considering a move to Texas. Also, ask why the DISD was issuing fake SS #’s to illegal aliens to give them jobs. Talk is cheap. I think the Pubbies are beholden to speciail interests that make big profits by hiring illegals and leting public hospitals and schools carry the tab.
I think Perry and Texas Pubbies have squandered a lot of their political capital - they have had chances to improve education funding, eliminate illegals, and have done little. I would like to see a list of their major accomplishments.
Did you know that when they were lobbying to build the Turner Turnpike, they promised to stop charging toll on it once construction was completed?
Seems they forgot.
NOTE: SB 225 provided for construction of the Turner Turnpike only and stated that upon redemption of all bonds issued, the turnpike could become a non-toll state highway, subject to acceptance by the State Highway Commission. SB 225 also provided, however, for the refunding of the bonds issued to construct the Turner Turnpike, which if done could lengthen the period of bonded indebtedness. Without refunding, the original bonds issued to construct the Turner Turnpike would have been retired in the third quarter of 1991.)

Wonder why folks distrust govnerment promises?
Texas Governor Rick Perry is being called to task by an author and investigative journalist for vetoing bills that would have blocked construction of the controversial Trans-Texas Corridor--- which will be part of a superhighway -- purported to be four football fields wide -- that will allow Mexican trucks to enter the U.S. and traverse the core of the country all the way to Canada.
Governor Perry cleared the way for construction to begin in Texas when he vetoed several bills passed by the Legislature that would have stalled the project. The texas Legislature voted a two-year moratorium, and voted a redefinition of eminent domain -- Perry vetoed them. [On] at least one of those measures, he waited until the Texas Legislature was out of session so it couldn't even override his veto. The Federal Highway Administration's lawyer wrote letters threatening the Texas Legislature to cut off federal highway funds if they got in the way of this Trans-Texas Corridor.
NOTEL Perry used eminent domain to take property from Texans to give to Cintra Concesiones de Infraestructuras de Transporte, S.A., a Spanish transportation company, in its successful bid to develop State Highway 121 into a toll road through Collin and Denton counties ("trade road" is four football fields wide)----approved by the Texas Transportation Commission, is the first privatization of a Texas toll road. Bracewell & Giuliani LLP (Rudy Giuliani's Texas-based law firm with global connections) is acting as project counsel to Cintra with respect to the 50-year concession from the Texas Department of Transportation.
Perry also endorsed Giuliani's bid for president.

MEXICO CITY Leading a large delegation of Texas executives trying to drum up business in Mexico, Gov. Rick Perry on Tuesday criticized the U.S. Congress for failing to pass an immigration bill that would legalize millions of workers. "I don't think this is that difficult an issue if Congress would have the maturity to sit down and really discuss it and cut out all the mean rhetoric," Perry said during a break in the third day of meetings with Mexican officials and business executives. You are right, I am wrong. Thanks for the correction. sorry
My Dad went A&M in the 50s so I’ll excuse your insensitivity. See ya’ll on turkey day!
The main problem is, at least on the stretch I am concerned with, that the money ($100M) was there for "flyovers", but they diverted the money to "other projects" and now plan on tolling us without the public having proper input. In total, they have diverted $1B to "other projects", some having nothing to do with road construction and then lost another $1B due to an "accounting error".
These toll roads are being shoved down our throats by an unelected bureaucracy, Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority (CTRMA), and will be built and run by a foreign entity called Cintra and to add insult to injury, it will be under a non-compete agreement, which means the non-tolled lanes will not be kept up, forcing people onto the toll roads. The system is rife with corruption, greed and backroom deals. It is literally highway robbery.
Honest mistake...to tell you the truth, Austin embarrasses us real Texans, we try to forget it’s there ourselves, LOL!
