When a flag is flown upside down it means the country is in distress...

WHY IS THE U.S. FLAG FLOWN UPSIDE DOWN?
“The upside down U.S. flag is an official signal of distress. It is not meant to be, and is not officially recognized as any type of disrespect when so displayed for the right reasons. To the contrary, here is the relevant part of the US Code of Laws regarding how to fly the flag when in distress:

§ 176. Respect for flag: No disrespect should be shown to the flag of the United States of America; the flag should not be dipped to any person or thing. Regimental colors, State flags, and organization or institutional flags are to be dipped as a mark of honor.
(a) The flag should never be displayed with the union down, except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property.
Most individuals who have served in the military service of our nation will (or should) recognize this signal.
As a result of the many traitors and enemies we as a free people have, both foreign and domestic, as a result of the many unconstitutional acts, legislation and atrocities passed and/or committed against US citizens and their life, liberty and property, and as a result of policies that have allowed (and continue to allow) enemies of this nation to enter in large numbers through a porous border policy, the life, liberty and property of US citizens are in dire danger and distress.”

I’ve got my flag hanging in my window. I’ll change the formation so that the stars are at the bottom on Jan 20, OR if I end up going to the inauguration, as soon as I get home.

Please don’t use our flag as a political tool. That’s what the leftists do, in their burning and stomping of it. Our soldiers are dying for what that flag embodies. The lease we can do is continue our respect for their sacrifice.
Thats a great idea! We have got to do things to be noticed like the dems do. I’m tired of the Repubs just taking crap without any sort of a protest. Flags at half mast would certainly get noticed.
I think the republican party needs to spend its time finding itself and then defining itself to the American people and posting Conservatism101 in Usenet and other liberal blogs. The entire campaign of 2008 was nothing but what Obama and the democrats will do and very little about what we will do. Unfortunately, we lost. Instead of spending the next 4 years crying I think we had better start working on regaining both houses in 2010.

What would all you folks who are gung ho to do this say to a gold star mother who saw your flag at half mast because of a lost election? One lives over in the next town from me...not only were flags lowered around here for her son, but Gov. Ahnuld lowered the flags on the state house in Sacramento because the boy was stationed at Pendleton before he was deployed. What would you say to her? Oh, I know you have some answer about how bad Obama is, or how you might even say that you’re engaging in this protest because he wants to make her son’s death worthless...but really, do you think if you were in her place that would make any damn sense? Or would you just feel like someone gave you the finger?
That flag deserves to be respected, not used in the same way the neo-hippie “Bushitler-all-our-troops-are-terrorists” freaks have been using it the last eight years.

Sorry, haole, but I can’t do that to our flag. What I can do, and would encourage others to do, is starting today everyone put a sign in their yard, their car, their businesses that says, “NO BIRTH CERTIFICATE, NO OBAMA”.

That would be a defeatist move, IMO, because I don't see my country as "dead."

I’ll probably remove my flag for 1 day only. I might drive to Canada on Jan 20 and spend the day there in protest. I’m also planning on boycotting products made in any state that voted for Obama by more than 20% (CA, NY, IL, etc). Yes this means buying Chinese instead if I have to.
The MSM usually does a masterful job of burying the RTL March -- putting on page 67 a photo and caption of half a million people, whereas a dozen NOW protesters get front-page coverage. But TEN million people descending on DC for the day is something the MSM would not be able to ignore.
