If McCain didn’t share the same view as Obama on illegal immigration, this could have been a tremendous “wedge issue” for him as the economy tanked. Maybe the next GOP Presidential candidate, assuming that he/she is not a Carl Rove acolyte, will recognize the power of this issue. In the interim, our only hope to survive the alien onslaught is for the individual states to do what Oklahoma tried to do to repel boarders from South of the Border.

Zogby poll says that only 32% of Obama voters voted for him because of amnesty. McCain could have made a connection between the mortgage crisis and illegals, but I don't expect McCain (or Bush or Obama) to be on the USA'a side:
