This "moderately conservative" Supreme Court tossed out parental abortion notification in 1997.

I think the media is trying to create this perception on purpose, in hopes that the court will react to it. That’s how they can just disregard that this “conservative” court already once overturned the will of the people. The MSM is using this tactic a lot more, and it’s effective.

They are trying to convince us that the court is not a liberal court. It stings the gay activists to hear about how liberal judges have legislated from the bench on homosexual marriage. So the talking points are that a moderate to conservative leaning court ruled for same-sex marriage, which is supposed to convince people that even conservative legal minds embrace the idea.
