Good luck. I am a judge and I can’t get court-ordered defendants to do community work service in that age group. They would rather do flat jail time. So, now we’ll have even more overcrowded jails for those who refuse to do their community work service which will backfire and instead of assisting the government it will be more of a tax drain. Brilliant.

As a social worker, my daughter has said the same thing many times.
And I’m still amazed when someone speaks about the ‘unfair’ number of inmates we have in this country.

Your Honor, my kids aren't serving time against my will in either community service or jail. Someone takes my kids, that's kidnapping and I'll react accordingly. If the jailers themselves cannot be held accountable, then those that sent them will be. YES, that IS a threat (though not to you or any specific person...yet).

Something tells me that lots of people feel the same way. You may be trying a lot of manslaughter and murder cases before long, and you may need to read up on how to instruct juries on the concept of justifiable homicide.
