WHYY yesterday hired former Inquirer editorial page editor Chris Satullo for a new position overseeing the public broadcaster's radio, TV and Internet news operations. He will begin work Dec. 15. WHYY will announce Satullo's title this week, and he will be "responsible for all our news and civic-engagement initiatives," said William J. Marrazzo, president and chief executive officer --snip--- "He's a three-fer," he said, "an outstanding journalist with a track record in civic engagement who understands this community like the back of his hand."

This clown was embarrassed by his country. I guess he is not too proud to take taxpayer money. I am sure he will give a fair and balanced presentation of the news. /s

About 15 years ago or so, I was watching WHYY late one night when they happened to have on homosexual programming. They actually showed two men having sex. I think the program was about how they do it. Couldn’t believe my eyes. I’ve never ever donated to them. Couldn’t afford to before then and won’t on principle now. My husband (we weren’t married then) tells fund-raisers who call that story and they genuinely seem shocked, but also realize that they will not get funds from us.

I second that sentiment.....this “Journalist” should be sent over to Iraq or Afghanistan with nothing but a pad of paper and a pencil and try to get real stories of what’s going on there. Ten to one odds says he gets kidnapped or better yet, shot. “Journalists” like this do not deserve to be protected by our Constitution or Declaration of Independance....

Just so it’s clear to readers of this thread, WHYY is Philadelphia’s local, taxpayer-funded NPR station. It is absolutely no surprise that this lefty parasite Satullo landed right where he can shove his pig-snout into the public trough.

But who gets their news from WHYY? I only watch if there is a history of Philly show or Monty Python reruns.

Good point. I didn't even know they did news. I suppose if they do any news it will be viewed only by their fellow goofballs, so they'll be "preaching to the choir". I'm not sure if my remote is programmed to skip WHYY or not.... I remember that the station occasionally showed an old classic movie from time to time.

The TV GM gets what? $750,000 a year?
