They sold a passenger a trip on their plane. How ever they choose to dice up their seating is their business. They may want to charge passengers by their weight if they desire and allocate seating by the amount paid. But if they are charging a oassenger for a trip they should provide seating. The passenger knows the seat sizes when they buy a ticket. Why should the airline be forced to cut their fare/seat in half for a select group of people? Should a restaurant be forced to provide double the portions for the same price as a normal meal just because someone "requires" more food?

I disagree, passengers do not know the seat widths when buying their ticket. They purchase a service, to be transported, and should be transported as they purchased a ticket, not a chair.
