Prosecutor who had Cheney indicted yells at judge
By CHRISTOPHER SHERMAN, Associated Press Writer

RAYMONDVILLE, Texas – A county prosecutor who brought indictments this week against Vice President Dick Cheney and others pounded his fist and shouted at the judge Friday during a routine hearing. Willacy County District Attorney Juan Angel Guerra asked Presiding Judge Manuel Banales to recuse himself from the case, which alleges abuse at federally run prisons.

Attorneys for the vice president and other defendants leapt to their feet in objection as Guerra pounded the table and accused Banales of giving the defendants special treatment.

"Now all of a sudden there is urgency," Guerra shouted. "Eighteen months you kept me indicted through the election."

Guerra lost his bid for re-election in the March primary and will leave office in January. He was indicted last year on charges he extorted money from a bail bond company and used his office for personal business, but the charges were dismissed last month.

Guerra said the judge was wrong to allow motions to quash the indictments to be heard before the defendants were arraigned.

I'm so glad that some people aren't afraid to act like idiots in public, otherwise I'd have to pay for entertainment.

I don’t think yelling at a judge is ever a good idea. ;)

Yep, it’s never a good idea to yell at the judge.

I don’t know, it’s rarely tried. Perhaps he could do it again and let’s all watch and see where it gets him.

Chump move for sure! The Cheney indictment from a kook Grand Jury is going down. Too bad the prosecutor is not in a lot of trouble for bringing this before a court.

Let me get this straight. Yahoo news is covering this wacko’s lawsuit but is ignoring the numerous suits concerning Obama’s elgibility to be POTUS?

Guerra first said "I will not obey that order," but then agreed to stay if the judge asked him respectfully.

That's one lawyer who must need a wheelbarrow to cart his cajones around!

“Eighteen months you kept me indicted through the election.”

Welcome to Tom DeLay’s world. Not so much fun when the proverbial shoe is on the other foot, is it? Otherwise, go chase an ambulance.

This is a DEMOCRAP operative probably operating in front of a DEMOCRAP judge- Theatrics are not only welcome but ENCOURAGED if it will help publicize this circus act against Cheney.

“After Guerra’s office was raided as part of the investigation early last year, he camped outside the courthouse in a borrowed camper with a horse, three goats and a rooster. He threatened to dismiss hundreds of cases because he believed local law enforcement had aided the investigation against him.”

That’s one judge with the patience of Job.

I wonder what it will be like for that former prosecutor when he has to do time with the same folks he put in jail?

Juan Angel Guerra should be in prison for prosecutorial misconduct. There are few things in a free nation more abhorrent than government prosecutors abusing jurisprudence and using criminal prosecutions to settle scores or conduct persecutions.

Now all of a sudden there is urgency," Guerra shouted. "Eighteen months you kept me indicted through the election.">>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

The courts in Texas seem to have a problem with this. They have been doing it to Tom DeLay for even longer. And Tom can't run for office either.

A speedy trial depends on which side of politics you might be on.

To tell the truth, I can't blame Him for yelling, but it will get him bumpkiss.

And Indicting Cheny is simply an act of protest at his own treatment, really the exercise of a moonbat option.
