Adressing a meeting to mark the start of the Week of Basij (mobilization of volunteer forces), lieutenant commander of the General Staff of Iran's Armed Forces Major General Gholam-Ali Rasheed said that US President George Bush has established the infrastructures required in the region for posing a threat to Iran.

Imagine being in the Iranian military now. You have US forces basically able to hit you from the gulf, Indian Ocean, Iraq, and Afghanistan. And the Israelis likely to participate, probably via Iraqi airspace.
This guy must have taken lesson from Bagdad Bob.
Not that I think we will mount any kind of ground attack anyway.
It’s always nice to know that they are preparing for this. Let’s let them be busy little bees for a while, wasting time and resources on this.

In 2009, they’re scheduled to receive M1 tanks, artillery, and Little Bird attack helicopters. They already have placed orders for F-16s.
Plus Iran can’t be too happy that there’s a free press and open market economy next door to them. The Syrians can’t be too happy either.
And they have sufficient air superiority, firepower, training and logistical support to make God himself jealous.
They are soon running out of money:
