Axelrod: No 'potted plants' in Cabinet
POLITICOLOCO ^ | 11-23-08 | Mike Allen

David Axelrod, the incoming White House senior adviser, said Sunday that President-elect Obama is deliberately appointing a strong Cabinet but that final decisions will still rest with the Oval Office. They are not going to be potted plants. ... They are going to be partners with him in governance, and he is going to encourage that.

"Axelrod: No 'potted plants' in Cabinet".

And not pot plants, either:

CA medical marijuana advocates concerned about Obama appointments By Malcolm Maclachlan (published Thursday, November 20, 2008) In this year’s presidential election, medical marijuana advocates in California were pretty clear on which candidate they were rooting for. On multiple occasions, Democrat Barack Obama has pledged to end the federal raids that have bedeviled the state’s dispensaries for years under the Bush administration.

But some of their relief has turned into concern as the incoming president has begun to consider appointments to key posts. Obama will reportedly appoint two men who have been fierce critics of medical marijuana: Eric Holder, rumored to be Obama’s pick for attorney general, and Donald Vereen as transitional co-chair of the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP).

Well someone has to govern the country. “The One” hasn’t governed anything, ever.

I, for one, look forward to my new Bolshevik Overlords!!! Will the Cabinent be renamed the Politboro?? It would be keeping in with the times.

Its gonna be a fun, fun, fun, 4 years!!! MARXISM, CATCH THE FEVER!!!!

There was an interesting article about this guy in National Review. This guy often is succesful as far as winning but his tactics are slimmy. The article suggested he’s behind much of the smearing of Palin on YouTube. The article also points out that even though his candidates often win they rarely govern well or maintain their popularity.

The number one national security threat will become Joe with a pickup truck and shotgun; that of course while we retreat in Iraq, ignore missile defense, kill FCS, and talk to Iran.....etc.

They are going to be partners with him in governance

In business, partners have equal duties and responsibilities for decision making.

Until this incoming administration, the President was the buck stopper, not a partner. In real life, 0 will blame all the bad decisions on others, and grab all the glory for any good decisions (if there are any).

It should not be necessary for Axelrod to be saying such things. People should take as a given that the cabinet will be active and cooperative in governance.

However, Obama is smart to put it out there. Having been a pastor and missionary and now teacher, I have discovered that you HAVE to keep assuring people, even though they should know things. Like you love them. Like you want the best for them. Like the things you are doing will have a desired result. Explain, talk, explain, talk some more.

This is good communication. The conservative movement should take note.

"...They are not going to be potted plants. ... They are going to be partners with him in governance..."

In other words, given that most of them outstrip him in actual experience, they are going to teach him to to actually do his job (their way of course). It'll be like On-the-Job Training for an Apprentice President.

You know.... kind of like... "pulling his strings"...

Welcome to OZ. "Pay no attention to the Marxists behind the screen".

That’s the one thing I was hoping Obiebam would do, legalize, as much as possible, grass. Income would rise, tax monies increase, and I’d live “the good life” once a month or so. Maybe it still will happen.

As for potted plants in the cabinet, there’s going to be a Venus Flytrap over at State.
