I was once asked how can I tell if someone has too much pistol. It is really a simple exercise. Set your target at 7 to 10 yards. Fire 5 rounds in under 10 seconds. If the shot group is bigger than your pistol ... you have too much pistol and not enough control.Hmmmmm, I may test that once I get mine...

Thanks, I needed an answer to that question as well.

It’s a good exercise. I was also asked about the reverse. How can you tell if you have too much control and not enough pistol. To which my response was .... if the spread is smaller than your muzzle..... [grin]

I'm thinking about getting a pellet pistol for two reasons: we can afford (better than nothing) and I am older female and feel better with pellets than bullets. Is my thinking sound here?

BTW, I worked in prison and during basic training made Expert with pistols. Never shot a pistol or rifle before in my life. Course my targets were not people! I'm still proud of shooting like an expert though

I would say that a pellet gun is not going to stop any adult person. Child perhaps, urban animal possibly. A .22 LR pistol firing HP has the possibility of wounding or killing someone IF YOU ARE ACCURATE ENOUGH.

As for price, there are a lot of decent bullet chunkers out there under $500.
