The ranch in Crawford is a completely self-sustantained, off the grid, eco marvel. It cycles 25,000 gallons of rainwater, solar power, geothermal heating, grey-water usage et al. It’s hardly unpretentious from a green standpoint. It would make Ed Bagely jealous.
I don’t think it’s off the grid, but it does have some pretty good “sensible” measures.
I’d love to be able to use my greywater to water the lawn, which Bush does. Geo-thermal seems to be one of the smartest things to come around in a long while, but you need some property to make it work.
Those are smart things to conserve the resources but not the insanity that envirwacko’s want to have that cost far more than they will ever save.
