Nobel or not, Krugman is a vile, low-class, far-left clown.

You're WAY too kind.

I usually enjoy the Daily Dose, but too bad all of the photos have President Bush with folks that I think are less than stellar! The last one on post #21 would have to my toaster photo if I have to. While I don’t agree with Olmert’s positions, I do understand why we, as one of Israel’s few allies, need to work with their duly elected leaders even if we don’t quite agree with his ideas.

In fact - please put that photo on. I was halfway wishing for that photo from the other day with President Bush kissing his daughter Barbara. But, #21 may be the last time I see a U.S. president shaking hands with an Israeli leader for a long time.

Snugs...see post #46.

21twelve: I have passed your request on to snugs, she does the toasters. I guess you know you don't have to pick a photo from tonight; it can be any photo you want.

OK, folks, I have a request for myself, and would appreciate any prayers you can send up for me. I've had Atrial Fibrillation off and on for the last 10 years, and since landing in the hospital on Christmas Day last year, with my heart working at about 20% of it's capacity, have been on medication all year. The heart function returned, by April, and the Docs think that it was a virus that attacked my heart. Even with the meds, I've still had 3 or 4 episodes of A-Fib this year, having to go to the emergency room once, and stay overnight for a Cardiac Electro-Conversion the following day.

I'd had a full cardiac workup in 2003, after a couple of bouts with the A-Fib, and didn't have any heart damage, but the Cardiologist told me I had a 'wiring problem', and that it would likely continue. He mentioned that the Electro-Conversion, for zapping the heart back into rhythm, might be necessary, but the thing that would likely get rid of it would be a Catheter Ablation.

So, because these episodes have gotten stronger each time this year, I decided that I'm going to have the Ablation procedure. I'll be going in this Wed. morning, the Ablation starts at 8 and will probably be over by 2-4pm. We met with the nurse-anesthetist last Thurs, and he confirmed that I'll be out the entire time, thank goodness! It involves a Catheterization, and a radio frequency tool to cause lesions on the pulmonary veins, to insulate them, so the electrical signals coming through don't transfer to my heart. It's not a particularly risky procedure, but as in any procedure involving wounds, there's always a risk, and there are others with this particular procedure, but my Doctor has done over 100 of them, with no major complications, so I'm feeling very confident that all will go well.

The Doc was surprised when we decided to do this the day before Thanksvgiving, but our three younger kids are all at college, and since they'll be home in mid-December for a month, they're not coming home for Thanksgiving. This way, I'll be feeling pretty good by the time they arrive! The only real pain in the whole thing is from the incision for the catheter, and when I had a catheterization done in December, it only took me about a week to be able to get around without some discomfort at the site. Our oldest son lives in Somerville, MA, and he offered to come over on Friday to fix our Turkey Day dinner, so he and his girlfriend will bring over the turkey deep-fryer, and all the fixins and I'll get to take it easy!

So, I'd appreciate the prayers, and I'll be home on Thursday night, and will post either then, or the following day to let y'all know how it went! Oh, and Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

I wonder if Krugman even looked President Bush in the eye once during his visit to the Oval Office. The body language in the photos here certainly is negative, almost hostile.

Prayers for healing, comfort, and your family making lots of cherished memories throughout your procedure and this holiday season.

My sister-in-law had an electrical issue with her heart too...it caused her heart to race. They ended up finding out that she had two message senders or receptors where normally there would only be one. I will ask her what the name of her diagnosis was and get back to you as soon as I can. Perhaps you can bring this up as a possibility to your doctors. She recovered quite well. She really felt tired for a good while after having it taken care of, but she's fine now. The procedure did have a medium high risk level, but she's glad she did it.

I'm so sorry you have to have this happen to you, but I'm so glad it's already beginning to give you the gift of what "family" is all about. Every one starting to step up to the plate and help makes those that are helping feel good, too. See the loveliness of that and hold that feeling in your heart...that will heal you better than any medicine can.

Also, and this is REALLY important...whenever you feel scared or apprehensive, picture yourself walking out of the hospital smiling, then picture yourself up and doing something you really love to do---fully recovered. Visualizing the details of the success you desire help to make it happen. IT WORKS. Helping God to see what it is you want as if it already happened provides Him with the "map" to fulfill your wishes.

BELIEVE.

Prayers from me and my Mom (from above). She went through much of what you are describing with her throat. She couldn't swallow because of all the crud--as you describe. I'm so glad you are there to explain how important it is to do whatever it takes, per your Dad's wishes. The docs weren't as aggressive in opting for procedures with my Mom. She was so all alone and wanted to be with my Dad. I'm so glad your Dad wants to be with you. That is the best medicine.

EVERYONE...picture snugs and her Dad at home and happy and opening Christmas presents ---a beautiful new, warm throw over her Dad's lap. Christmas music is playing in the background. They can't wait to eat some of those yummy dishes snugs is known for creating. They are laughing at the gift Dad's opening now. Phil and snugs are looking at her Dad and hugging. They are so happy he's doing so well and enjoying this day so much.

This visual will get them through this ordeal right now--keep it in your minds all of us!....BELIEVE...SEE IT AS IF IT WERE...WE CAN ALL HELP THIS COME TRUE!!!!

GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR DAD, SNUGS!!!

Father, in the precious NAME OF JESUS, I command this infection to leave our dear brother, that his strength would return and he would be able to do what he needs to battle this infirmity. Spirit of Infirmity, I command you to leave this brother alone. Spirit of death, you are not allowed near this man and you MUST leave and go to that place that Jesus would send you. I release peace and comfort and the blessing of sleep and rest over him.

I pray blessings and peace over Snugs and her family as well. Thank you, dear Lord. Love, Maryxxx

Thanks, Nordie. Actually, from what the Doc explained, he'll be cauterizing all the pulmonary veins, creating lesions on the outside of them so they'll build up scar tissue, in effect, creating insulation so that any electrical spurts in the future won't affect the surrounding heart tissue.

There is some risk, since they actually have to puncture the wall between the atria, and they're working quite close to my esophagus, but I'm putting myself in the Lord's Hands. I've been praying a Novena to the Sacred Heart (fitting, huh?) and doing exactly what you suggested, seeing myself waking up in recovery, and healing quickly from the incision required for the catheters.

I have to lay still for a couple of hours in Recovery after the procedure, to let the Angio Seal get set, but I'm bringing my iPod loaded with all my Christmas music on it, so I'll be relaxing to the sounds of Boston Camerata, Anonymous 4, Handel, J.S. Bach, the Chieftans, Windham Hill Christmas CDs, Bing Crosby and Harry Connick, Jr. I'll be a happy and contented camper!

Thanks so much. I'm finishing up my errands today so I won't have to get out and do any more shopping for Christmas decorations, or stuff to make gifts. I'll just be able to relax and enjoy making them.

I discovered that I'd packed all our Christmas stockings in a box that's now in the cargo trailer with half our worldly goods, sitting in my sister-in-law's yard in Mississippi. So I went out and found some lovely fabric, and will make some new ones! The others were getting pretty worn out anyway, so this was a good excuse to get some new ones, though I hadn't planned to do that. ;o)
