The real question is: what are you talking about? Officer Tippit caught Oswald after he fled the murder scene, and after Oswald shot him they caught Oswald a bit later in the theater. They caught Oswald in a number of lies during the interrogation. They found the murder weapon, tied it to Oswald. They found finger prints in the sniper’s nest. No official investigation ever contradicted their conclusion, with the asinine exception of the House select committee on assassinations, which relied on the debunked motorcycle tape.
The only thing they screwed up was Ruby. But I’m convinced they found enough evidence to convict him, certainly.

In addition it was the Dallas P.D. that allowed the assasin of the President of the United States to be assassinated.
