Social services 'set up CCTV camera in couple's bedroom' Social workers set up a CCTV camera in the bedroom of a couple with learning difficulties in order to monitor their behaviour, a new report claims. By Martin Beckford, Social Affairs Correspondent

Council staff are said to have spied on the young parents at night as part of a plan to see if they were fit to look after their baby, who was sleeping in another room.

The mother and father were forced to cite the (Human Rights Act), which protects the right to a private life, before the social services team backed down and agreed to switch off the surveillance camera while they were in bed together.

Simply disgusting.

If you're going to do something like this, at least have the common sense to pick a smokin' hot couple. Maybe a couple of lipstick lezbots.

The UK is a dictatorship anymore. Actual freedom does not exist in that country.

Actually, if the state assumes responsibility for the proper upbringing of children, this makes sense.

I hope everyone involved in treating these folks like lab rats spend an hour incarcerated in the local jail for every hour they imposed on each and every citizen, and that a film is made of all that happens when one is forced to live in a fishbowl, and played in every pub in town, and that a pint or three be bought for anyone seen beating the sand out of the garbage can spies.

How ironic!

When conservatives oppose the homosexual agenda, or the legalization of prostitution we're told "keep your morals and the state out of my bedroom.....it's none of your business!" Like we really want to see what's going on in other peoples' bedrooms.

Here we have a real example of the socialist state actually physically intruding into the bedroom. Imagine if this had been a homosexual couple. They'd be marching in the streets.

Do you hear an outcry from the liberals and socialists?

Neither do I.

Gosh, where are all the “if you aren’t doing anything wrong” idiots at on this thread??? This is just the next logical step to the downward spiral of red-light cameras, CCTV’s on every corner, GPS in every car to track your mileage so you can pay more gas taxes, etc., etc.......

Orwell was just off by a few years.

Sorry, wrong state.

See, the socialists can do no wrong in the bedroom - if their “intentions” are in the right place. After all, the camera “was” turned off (monitored 100% of the time, eh!) when the couple got into bed.

So, dressing and changing clothes and drying off, and talking to each other are not-so-private activities, are they?

Liberal doctrine: The cause is so important the means are irrelevant. It is how brown shirts are born.

Or an instruction manual.

I keep reminding my leftist acquaintances that ‘1984’ was supposed to be a warning, not a suggestion.

This is the doctrine of all collectivist ideology.

But NO! Don't you dare imply that "liberals" are socialists.
