If one parent is NOT a citizen and the other is...one of them must have lived in the US for five years if they were under eighteen.
You can see why the media and Dems want to buy this. If he was born in Mombassa, as looks increasingly likely, his citizenship is in question...and more than that...he would not meet the constitutional qualification of being “natural born”.

Well I guess I’m stupid enough to recognize that if we don’t protect our Constitution we lose it along with our rights. And then we have set a precedent where any swinging richard can be pres with enough foreign money.

Let me explain what happens if Obama releases the original birth certificate from Hawaii, which is of the form indicating he was unequivocally born there.
Wackos will scrutinize it with extreme precision and will announce that there is a smudge on it here or there and that smudge raises questions. Then they will find some typo that a nurse corrected 47 yrs ago on the document and explode into AHA!!!!! this means it is all bogus.
Or . . . the certificate will be entirely clean, perfect, proper, and consistent with any other citizens birth certificate of that year, with proper typewriter font, format and spelling and the wackos will STILL decide that smudge is damning, or that the paper edges are not of an appearance they want to see.
In other words, he has the Governor of the State of Hawaii having claimed all is right and proper. That’s that. Anyone who now accuses him of the reverse assumes the burden of proof as to that accusation, and he’s under no obligation to aid their efforts. They can go ahead and spend all the money they want trying to overturn Hawaii state law that holds the document private. The lawyers they pay in that pursuit, who will then donate that money to the DNC, will be very proud to function as that conduit.
Doesn’t the fact that his mother was an American citizen make his birth place irrelevant?

To run for the highesst office in the land, the founders stipulated that the person has to be “natural born”. What does that mean. My understanding is that means you can’t be a naturalized citizen as is the case with Arnold Schwarzenegger. It also means you can’t be a dual citizen...ie a citizen of both the USA and another country. Further stipulations are that if one parent is a foreign national and one parent is a US citizen — then candidate has to be born in the USA and the US citizen has to have lived in the USA for five years after the age of 14.
Both Obama’s grandmother and the Ambassdor from Kenya have asserted that Obama was born in Kenya. The document that Obama submitted seems to back that up. He submitted a Certificate of Live Birth. In Hawaii a Certificate of Live Birth or COLB is submitted when a person is born overseas... It is not a birth certificate. The amount of information on a COLB is rather limited. A Hawaiian birth certificate has all kinds of detailed information on it.
My wife was born in Taiwan and has a U.S. Citizen passport.

Let me explain to you that the statement of a politician, i.e. the governor of Hawaii, means not one damned thing to me. Have you ever known a politician to lie before? Until the long form vault copy is a matter of public record, his presidency is illegal and abhorrent to me. The burden of proof lies with Obama, he is the one who seeks power. I do not care what people will say after he shows it, the burden is his, and he MUST show it.
It would all be settled if a MSM type, like Charles Gibson or Tom Brokaw would simply ask, “Why have you spent 800,000 dollars to fight this in court instead of simply showing it and putting an end to the questions?” I realize he will give a mumbo jumbo answer about it not being important or whatever but it is very strange behavior for someone with nothing to hide.
I believe that we will be able to declare ourselves free of having to obey any laws signed by him including tax hikes. If arrested we can declare he is unqualified for office and let them prove he isn’t. I believe a huge constitutional crisis is developing.
However, if he can play this delay game until he gets into office, then he will have the full resources of the US government which can certainly create on-the-spot a “genuine 1961 birth certificate.”
Perhaps he has to hold firm on this or there will be continuing demands for him to release all the other things he is hiding.
At one juncture at least, they are saying as a Senator he was able to get a passport and circumvent the rules of obtaining a passport. As to the other times, he went out of the country, I would not know. This is discussed in the other many threads.
