I have a question that I haven’t seen addressed.

Doesn’t the fact that his mother was an American citizen make his birth place irrelevant?

IIRC, there’s a requirement that, if a child is born out of the country to parents only one of which is an American citizen...that citizen, in this case the mother, had to reside within the area of the U.S. proper for a period of 5 years after her 16th birthday. Since Obama’s mother was 18 at the time of his birth, she nor he would not qualify if he was born in Kenya.

In a similar thread, I saw a post which addressed the fact that in 1790? congress passed a law which altered the meaning of "natural born citizen" to include those who are born abroad to American citizens. However, in 1795, they repealed it, restoring the original meaning of "natural born citizen". However, one of the key points of this issue is this... it doesn't really matter where he was born. The fact that during his childhood he was a citizen of Kenya (then under UK jurisdiction) again disqualifies him according to the constitution from being eligible for POTUS.

Why do you think his college records are sealed tight as well?... maybe because he qualified then for receiving foreign student aid? How does he do that if he is a natural born citizen... or even naturalized for that matter?

Fact is, he is an illegal alien (until he proves otherwise) not solely because of where he was born, but where he held citizenship besides the US. (duel citizenship was not allowed in Kenya when he was there being taught as a muslim)

.........
To run for the highesst office in the land, the founders stipulated that the person has to be “natural born”. What does that mean. My understanding is that means you can’t be a naturalized citizen as is the case with Arnold Schwarzenegger. It also means you can’t be a dual citizen...ie a citizen of both the USA and another country. Further stipulations are that if one parent is a foreign national and one parent is a US citizen — then candidate has to be born in the USA and the US citizen has to have lived in the USA for five years after the age of 14.

Both Obama’s grandmother and the Ambassdor from Kenya have asserted that Obama was born in Kenya. The document that Obama submitted seems to back that up. He submitted a Certificate of Live Birth. In Hawaii a Certificate of Live Birth or COLB is submitted when a person is born overseas... It is not a birth certificate. The amount of information on a COLB is rather limited. A Hawaiian birth certificate has all kinds of detailed information on it.

his mother was, his father was NOT. then he was adopted by his Indonesian stepfather and attended islamic school there. Mr. Sotoero, claimed barack as his child and then at that time 196? his citizenship was rescinded. He also visited Pakistan when Americans could not get in that country, why? BECAUSE HE IS NOT A CITIZEN OF THIS COUNTRY, He might be a citizen of Indonesia, or Kenya, but not the country that elected him.

REAL SMART YOU DEMS!

Haven’t seen it addressed? You haven’t read the threads have you?

No, his father was not a US Citizen. In order for his mother to transfer “Natural Born” status to him, she must have been in the US for 10 years, 5 of which over the age of 16. She was only 18 when Obama was born, therefore she could not transfer her citizenship to him if he was not born in the US territory. She could of course get him citizenship later based on her status, but that does not make him Natural Born.
