All that money goes into organized crime as well as the Democrat party.
That's a distinction without a difference.

Obama is bringing in the post-industrial socialist phase of America, relegating us to third world status. Our day in the sun may well be over. Our epitaph? Death by suicide.....

"Ill buy American if the price is good..." I'll buy American-made even if the price is not so "good" - because the people who made it are my neighbors, and because the quality is there.
Here's an example: Allen-Edmonds
Here's another: let's see your rice-burner do this!

So, you want something not union-made?
Get yourself one of these babies! In this economic downturn, these are made at two plants, one union, one free.
Guess which one chose to go on strike just a couple months ago?
LOL!

“do a google search for made in USA clothing and you will see lots of sites, the cost in not to bad and I have had good luck with the quailty.”
Thank you!
I have been promoting MADE IN USA goods for years.
When I was still in business(wholesale apparel),
I demanded only MADE IN USA merchandise.
I have Levis jeans I purchased twenty years ago, Jockey briefs & New Balance all MADE IN USA that are still in good shape.
Yes, you can buy cheaper goods but like my father used to say “Buy cheap, get cheap.”
And there are companies out there like Ameerican Apparel
who not only mfg. but wholesale & retail their MADE IN USA merchandise.
http://store.americanapparel.net/
And if folks would Yahoo MADE IN USA they would find a lot of clothing and other merchandise MADE IN USA.
Like Jay Leno said, I buy American cars because Chinese don’t watch my show. LOL

Stuff my eye. I won't buy overpriced union junk, no matter how many times this lie it repeated.
Value added is valued added, whether it happens in a Starbucks or a bank or a factory. The myth that only making stuff adds value is economically illiterate. The physiocrats pretended only growing things added value, some industry and commerce were an utter waste and only agriculture really mattered. Has-beens always tell that same silly lie.

In the early days of our nation, we imported just about everything. What we did have....was good natural resources, lotsa land...and hard working people.

It’s an excellent idea- but how do we do it? Could it be that through outsourcing our industrial base and encouraging debt, we’ve dug ourselves in so deep, we can’t get out?
If a positive outcome is possible, I want to read it.

Anyone who believes in America First is quickly labeled as one of the “ists.” Protectionist, isolationist, extremist, racist etc.
We're a “service economy” now. We make only lawyers. We have laws for every little petty thing you can imagine.
Even if they bring the jobs back here they will be filled by illegals and H1B Visa holders.

'Made in America' must make a comeback
Maybe 15 years ago, the investigative columnist Jack Anderson
did the commencement speech at a major university graduation
ceremony I attended.
The general theme was how the USA was faltering...while some
of our former adversaries were ascending.
What stuck with me was his recollection of a simple message that
appeared in Post-WWII Germany, tacked to telephone poles, plastered
on walls (even of bombed-out buildings), in short, in every place possible
so that post-war Germans could NOT avoid it.
The simple message, in German, was...
EXPORT OR DIE

How friendly is our country to business? The skill and ingenuity is certainly here, but the cost of labor, taxes and other business expenses are too high compared to other countries. Why else would a company go elsewhere? Yup. America is becoming less business friendly all the time. Just wait to see all of the petty EPA rules that come out over the next four years. Look at places in NY and CA where the states levy massive fines for insignificant infractions.

They send us their stuff and we send them our money.
That is probably just about a word-for-word repeat of what
Ross Perot told the members of The National Press Club to print
at the top of their newspaper's first page in four-inch tall
bold font.
That was the real take-home of his speech about how he found GM
to be a wretchedly-managed company during his short tenure at
GM headquarters in Michigan (I think after his firm EDS was taken
over by GM or one of the GM divisions).
IIRC, in the same speech Perot commented that he thought the
chief priority of GM execs was to see which of them could leave
the office early enough to make it to the golf course.
This was before Perot made his vibrant, yet disconnected run for
the Presidency in 1992.

“Its an excellent idea- but how do we do it?”
quality, quality, quality...
“If” USA were to emphasize “quality” like the Germans do instead of trying to compete “cheap” with the Asians who run sweat shops; America could & would prosper like the Germans.
Look at the Cadillac CTS-V which is as good as the BMW M5 or the Chevy Corvette which is as good as the super-cars out there that sell for twice and sometimes three times as much.
For starters, we could eliminate the corporate & personal income tax which would encourage more investment in American mfg.
Too bad McCain lost, he wanted more nuclear power plants built which would immediately create more good-paying mfg. jobs in the short run and cheaper electricity in the long run for further mfg. opportunities . But with Obama, not much chance of that happening.
Otherwise we are going to eventually be left to trying to purchase armaments from our enemies.

Made in America just doesn’t mean what it once did. Often now, it really means “Made in America.... by illegal immigrants, mostly from Mexico and Central America”.
