If our only answer is a moron who didn’t think a whites only club would be a problem - then we are screwed. Again.

do you?
I don’t know much about him.

If he’s never belonged to an all white country club - then that’s a definite plus in his column!

White Americans just elected a Black man President. They have reached the mountaintop. Racism is over. We should never again tolerate being labeled racists. It’s over!

Oh I agree, however you know that the Dems are gonna run with this and trumpet all over the MSM about how the GOP is an old, white, southern, racist party.

Exactly. This is part of the reason why we got pwned. A few people on our side were so concerned about Obama’s race that it turned off the rational Americans that would have seen through that charlatan and they voted for him out of spite.

We’re not the party of the white man. Coincidentally, many whites may be drawn to the party because many of our European ancestors valued conservatism, which is a new concept to many immigrants and minorities.
We’re not the party of the Christians. Christians are attracted to our party because we value conservative and family values.
We’re the party of ideas. Which means if anybody has a new idea that’s creative and will succeed in the real world, we adopt it instead of shying away from it.

We were, and always are the party of small government, individualism, a truly colorblind society (Which means no pandering to any race, either black or white) and personal responsibility. A black, punk rocking granola conservative from the inner city should feel as comfortable with the party’s message as well as a white Christian suburban dad, if they’re both for small government, individualism, personal responsibility and colorblindness.

We lost our way, and some of us might need 8 years of Obamanation to figure it out.

Didn’t we just run the most Hispanic friendly candidate in our History? And didn’t he just get whomped by the black guy? So your suggestion is “more of the same” only better?

Face it these Hispanic immigrants have a built-in cultural predilection for Socialism. They come here with nothing and it will be many many years (if ever) before they are not the likely recipients of the largess that they are voting themselves.

Despite a hundred years of success Jews are still voting socialist. Even Catholics have not shed their identification with they Donkey Socialist party.

What evidence can you provide that this strategy is anything more than a pipe dream?

You can bet there are Southern Democrats who are members of white only clubs. If you want to swim in the town where I live you don’t have much choice. You either go to the lake, (ugh!) or join a private club and the clubs are white only.

We need to start digging. You never know what you might find.

Jack, I don't think minorities will come into the Republican fold all by themselves. I said that it's going to take a real effort on our part, using excellent marketing, and some real roll-up-the-sleeves, get-'er-done outreach.

I don't know if our side is up for that, but doing what we have been doing is obviously not working, and has pretty much passed its shelf life.

We got thumped hard by the Donks. We've gotta look around and take stock of everything that just happened, and incorporate that data into our strategic planning for future victory.

Your idea of bringing more whites into the fold is every bit as valid as what I'm suggesting, and I don't believe these ideas should be mutually exclusive.

If we're unwilling to go after those segments of the population who lean Democrat, then we're abandoning some measure of our principles, a part of which, is the concept that every person here should be an American, and hold true to the ideals set forth by our Founders. Any rational person will choose sides with us, provided they're given (and absorb) the simple facts, but the responsibility is on us to spread those ideas.

Given the tenor of the times, and the hardened battle lines that have been drawn already, I don't know how successful such an effort might be, but short of enlightenment, our only other recourse is to take this country back through insurrection.

The nation is clearly on a path that leads to darkness and dissolution. Something's going to give. Maybe not soon, but probably much sooner than we'd like.

So, we've got to make some choices. Do we bunker up, and wait for the apocalypse, in hopes that our people will come out on top in the end? Or do we hold fast to those things we honestly believe in, and do everything we can to re-take the helm from the madmen who are steering us toward oblivion?

I'm sure that some will say that we're far past the point of correcting course now, and that we'd do better to suit up for what's coming. I understand that point of view, and there is plenty of evidence to back that up.

At the same time, I feel that even if there is a small chance that we can still make our case to the American people, and enlighten some with what we know, that we may yet avoid catastrophe.

There was a point in time where even a small group of concerned, responsible, and active citizens could have stopped the Nazi juggernaut from seizing power in Germany. Many good Germans saw it coming, but did nothing effective to prevent it. They contracted into their personal space, when they should have been organizing and getting off their butts.

In my opinion, we're at a similar place now. I predict that Obama and the Democrats are going to follow the script of the Nazis and begin a methodical dismantling of the 2nd Amendment, to disarm the populace. They will use the well-worn, and effective tool of incrementalism that has been slowly eroding our freedoms for decades, but will likely step up the pace to match their ambitions. The rest will follow, right on cue.

It's a time of choosing. Will we effectively address this menace while we still have relative peace and tranquility? Or will we abandon every political tool and legal avenue available to us, and bunker up for the holocaust?

I didn’t know white-only clubs existed any more. Remember the NYT featured extensively the club where the Masters is held not having women members, but thought race exclusion ended years ago.

Why attract any group based on some PC demographic if the Repubs give up conservatism?

You're reading an awful lot into what I said.

I'm not interested in us becoming the other liberal party, just so we can attract votes. That's madness. We are at a polar opposite from where the Democrats are, and should never compromise our principles. That's what RINOs do, and look at the ruin they've brought to us.

What I said, is that we need to enlighten more people, of all stripes, with our philosophy and message. I come from a minority demographic myself, and was a staunch liberal once upon a time, but someone helped me escape the liberal plantation. The same can happen throughout the country if enough conservatives commit themselves to spreading our message.

The Repubs need to tighten down the conservative hatch and gather in the base if they want to have a chance of regaining power. If people want to join the Republican party let them join as conservatives, not based on race.

I totally agree with that, but we also need to begin making serious inroads across enemy lines. The Donks have only captured so much of the minority demographic because we stood by and let them do it. We didn't effectively dead agent their lies when they brain-washed these people into believing that Republicans = racist. That's got to stop.

Bottom line for me: if someone is an American, I want them in my party, and fully on board with conservative principles. E Pluribus Unum.

This country will not stand 4 years of Obamalamadingdong with Reid and Pelosi as co-conspirators for socialism.

What I said, is that we need to enlighten more people, of all stripes, with our philosophy and message.

The radio airwaves are filled with the conservative message. Short of door to door proselatizing, I don't know how much more we can to get out the conservative message.

FWIW, I don't think enlightenment would have made any difference in this election. Friend of mine told me about a black co-worker of his that voted for Bush, hunts, collects guns, believes in smaller government, essentially is a conservative but voted for Obama. My friend asked him why and he said because Obama is black; in other words his vote was based on emotion. It's hard to reason with emotion.

believing that Republicans = racist.

How did that happen to begin with?

George Wallace - Democrat

Hugo Black - Democrat

Robert Byrd - Democrat

Ernest Hollings - Democrat

Jessie Jackson - Democrat

Al Sharpton - Democrat

The complete list of the 21 Democrats who opposed the Civil Rights Act of 1964 includes Senators:

- Hill and Sparkman of Alabama
- Fulbright and McClellan of Arkansas
- Holland and Smathers of Florida
- Russell and Talmadge of Georgia
- Ellender and Long of Louisiana
- Eastland and Stennis of Mississippi
- Ervin and Jordan of North Carolina
- Johnston and Thurmond of South Carolina
- Gore Sr. and Walters of Tennessee
- H. Byrd and Robertson of Virginia
- R. Byrd of West Virginia

and on and on and on........................

The radio airwaves are filled with the conservative message. Short of door to door proselatizing, I don't know how much more we can to get out the conservative message.

You know, I was a disillusioned Democrat for more than two decades, and hadn't voted in a long time, when I first ran across conservative talk radio.

It wasn't new. It was a very grown up and thriving industry when I was first introduced to it. It was born and grew up outside the bubble of my world without me even noticing.

One day while working on a neighbor's house, I overheard a talk show playing on his garage radio. I didn't react well to it at first, because, after all, it was some sort of "right-wing extremist" program, you know?

But, a funny thing happened on the way to my rejection.... the guy was making sense. He demolished the arguments of liberal caller, after liberal caller. Some lib would start off with an argument that I just knew would stump the host, but he de-constructed every one of them, piece by piece. By the end of the show I was impressed, uneasy, and curious.

Long story short, that was the moment I discovered the barbed wire shock fence of the plantation. Prior to that day, I didn't even realize it was there. Hell, I didn't even know I was ON a plantation.

Sure, talk radio is everywhere, but that doesn't mean the folks who need to tune in have the slightest inkling of what it is, or that it's even there, or that they don't know what they don't know.

What I just told you is the story of one person's escape from liberal slavery to the emancipation of conservative freedom. It might not have even happened, but for a fluke. My neighbor was a nice old retired guy, but he wasn't going to attempt to talk sense to me. He didn't even turn his radio on for my benefit. It's just what he did every day.

But, what if he'd taken the time to engage me in a conversation about politics years before? He could have done so at any time. He knew me well enough to flag me down for a leisurely chat. He probably didn't because he'd never think of proselytizing to anyone. But, I can tell you that if he'd done so, I would have listened. He may not have been able to convince me on his own, but he may have sparked my curiosity enough that I would have tuned in the talk shows myself.

Anyhow, there are lots of ways we can "get the word out". No one's going to go "door to door", but everyone of us knows hundreds of people, personally. You never know what sort of opportunities might arise in which you can at least point someone in the right direction. All any of us needs to do, is to pique another's interest. They've got to do the rest.

Here's the important thing. All people innately gravitate toward freedom. If a person gets the slightest sense that they're "in the matrix", their curiosity takes over, and they find their own way out of the trap.
