Smaller government is pure bs. Smaller than what? What we have now? Big deal. Smaller than Obama wants? Still way too monstrous. Smaller than USSR circa 1972?
How about SMALL government? How about government back to its pre-FDR level?
You can talk tax cuts all you want. But as long as spending continues to increase we are headed off the cliff. As long as the size and scope of government increases we are headed for tyranny and economic austerity.

We saw how small the government got when it was under total Republican control.

Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me.

First ... Support The Constitution.

It is the pledge and promise all the members or our government take when inducted into office.
President
Congress
Judges
Cabinet

Only ... they are not fulfilling their promise and pledge.

It is the bureaucrats that are there for life, and behind the scenes that are communist and socialist, and not for the Constitution, or the people, ... rather their own betterment.

After all of the comments I've been reading on FR since November 5th, I'm wondering if hoping for the complete and utter failure of the president, when that president is from an opposing party, is a core republican value. It certainly is not a core conservative value.

When you hope and pray that a president is the worst in history, that he fall completely flat on his face ... you are also wishing against the very success of this country. I can't do that. Although I don't believe for a second that it will happen, it is my hope that Barack Hussein Obama is the best and most successful president the US has ever seen. That may be detrimental to the republican party, but it will be a blessing for the country and its citizens.

Should be emphasis on freedom, private property rights, the Constitution as a limiting government document.

Family values is nice, but not essential to renewal of the Republican Party. I wouldn’t say family values are as important as the other topics I specified.

How about start with HONEST government? Republicans played the taxpayer rip-off game for six years, is it really a wonder that they got voted out? My most valuable core conservative value is honesty in government.
