The Wall Street Journal is openly fretting about President-elect Obamas appointment of a radical leftist as the new domestic policy council czar.
The only troubling personnel note was Melody Barnes as Domestic Policy Council director, opines the paper of record for the U.S. business establishment. Putting a former aide to Ted Kennedy in charge of health policy after tapping universal health care advocate Tom Daschle to be Health and Human Services Secretary sends a clear signal that Mr. Obama didnt mean it when his campaign ads said he wouldnt run to the extremes with government run health care.
But, other observers are noting that the appointment by Obama of so many ex-Clinton administration officials Clintonistas is making many wonder who actually won the Democratic Primaries and then the General Election on Nov. 4, former First Hillary Clinton or the the partys new love, the dauphin of democracy, Barack Hussein Obama.
Writes Kelley Beaucar Vlahos in The American Conservative, in an article entitled, The Clinton Cabinet: The Politics of Change Looks Surprisingly Familiar, at one point during the campaign, Republicans nearly succeeded in painting a picture of a post-election Washington in which radicals with bright red parachutes would drop onto the National Mall like the Hollywood Soviets in 1984s Red Dawn. But, writes Vlahos, so far, the invasion looks more like a sprawling downtown reunion of spry old war buddies from another timeabout eight years ago, in fact. So ascendant are the Clintonistas that its hard to believe Hillary lost.

Tacking right? You’re joking....right?

Off topic, but this is funny:
.
Ted Kennedy will run the Congressional health care overhaul, so of course a Kennedy staffer will be the connection at Executive. The plan is already half way down the road and flatfooting the accelerator.
Hate crime!
LOL!

Here’s one article outlining objections to the nomination of that one by “That One.”
May it veer off course and land in the drink. Pun intended.
ROTFL
After that, there will be no Constitutional nor psychological barrier or restraint on what the masses will expect and the government will “provide.”
“Once the US accepts socialized healthcare, it is over.”
They’ve accepted it because most of the people I know (I’m surrounded by libs on every level) believe it will be the exact same system, except the government will pay for everything. As one co-worker who has a chronic illness put it: “I had to pay $3,000 for medical expenses last year and that is just unacceptable! The government needs to take care of us. I need that money for other things.”
It made my dogs freak out and they’re an -Egyptian- breed.
Supposedly, Phoenicians carried them out of Egypt to Mallorca, Malta and Ibiza but now I suspect they just took off, screaming, and lit out of there on their own.
LOL
Very good.
Tell your lib-friend that is a pittance. If I was even able to carry insurance it would cost me over $10,000 a year due to a chronic pre-existing condition. Fair, unfair, the government should do this, should do that! The reality is I carry catastrophic coverage and it doesn’t cover the pre-existing. I pay cash at the time of visit with my Dr. and he discounts me over 50% since they don’t have to do paperwork or bill me. My actual out of pocket for past several years has been less than $1000 a year.
I remember a couple of young callers to G. Gordon Liddy’s show in the aftermath of Hillarycare. They had been considering med school but there was no way they wanted to end up as forced government employees. Brainiacs are not going to put up with this nonsense.
Life long conservative who is slowly coming out in favor of something besides what we have now.
Everyone that works for fed/state/county/city.com gets great healthcare, many of them retire or start retiring at or double dipping at 45. Healthcare continues for life.
All paid for by hard working people like me.
Then we have entire generations that have been raised with rent, food and healthcare paid for by the same hard working people like me.
The final straw is watching mexicans break our once great Nations laws and illegaly come here by the tens of millions while the fedstatecity.con does nothing.
Then mamacita and the bambinos come too and before you know it the same hard working Americans like me have to pay for their rent and their food and their healthcare.
Did I mention they are destroying healthcare for everyone?
Did I mention the city/state/feds dont care about us hard working Americans who pay for everything.
And last but not least, who can afford to go to the dam doctor after paying for everyone else to get free healthcare.
I have to pay a minimum of $250.00 anytime I get sick enough to see a doc, and I have to get really really sick.
I pray I dont have to take blood pressure or cholesteral drugs because they really have a racket going there to fleece anyone stupid enough to not have insurance or have someone else pay for their healthcare.

You’re right - and I don’t like where we are, either. It’s just that I was hoping for something other than national health care. I used to have a transcript of an 0bama interview - the link is broken now, but if I recall correctly the interview stated that basic health care would be for everyone, yes - but with basic health care you only get crutches and meds for arthritis, not a joint replacement (as an example). The good news is everyone is covered. The bad news is your quality of life will be affected.
Even Canada has begun charging for their health care in some places. The system is breaking down universally; here we are ready to try it out?
There’s got to be a better way. I’m very disappointed that the GOP hasn’t tackled this as a national problem and come up with a compromise rather than forcing us to choose one extreme over the other. Even my doctors are admitting it’s a huge problem and they’re not surprised 0bama got in based on this one issue alone.
