Virginia's grassroots gun-rights bulldog group the VCDL has petitioned the Va Department of Forestry to remove the carry restrictions (both open and concealed) in Virginia State Forests. The rules committee has a public comment period ending this Tuesday, 12/2/2008. As of about noon today there were three comments submitted; 2-pro gun 1-anti. Philip Van Cleave, the VCDL president sent out an email to the faithful this morning, and as of right now there are 1147 pro-gun comments, and 1 anti. Just goes to show what kind of results you can get if you have a strong grassroots organization, but the battle isn't over yet. Any of you folks that visit Virginia, and like to visit our forests please help us out. You don't have to be a VA resident to comment.

Thanks for your help.

Please click the link and post whether you vote for or against the right to protect yourself in the middle of the woods. I know, it sounds stupid. But it’s currently against the law because bears have more right to life than you do.
